Did you get a registration?

The hull ID # is stamped into the port side transom, just under the rub rail.

If you post a photo, we have guys that can nail it in 4 notes or less.

Here's a link to deciphering the HIN number if the boat was built after November 1st 1972

link

And like the link says it's on the "other Port side" commonly referred to as Starboard or right side if you're not using nautical terms

If it was built before 1972, it's usually on a plate nailed to a stringer and is just a shorter serial number that won't pinpoint the date.

70-72 wont have the plate on the stringer... the id is on the tag next to the throttle.

Pictures would help us properly identify the year and mode pretty quick. That will be the most reliable determination.

So if the tag by the throttle rule holds true then maybe my Marauder is actually a 1970 model. The tag was removed but the imprint from it is still visible in the vinyl. Hmmm. Interesting.   Either way I think I may stick with it being a 1969!

Definitely possible, that's what you have on your diary entry - I have a 70 Marauder that is the same hull as yours.   Diary info shows the hull didn't change till 1971. What had you move your original 1970 assessment to 1969?

Hi
There is no number to look at the rear, maybe disappeared when it has been painted. And no tag.
Engine is a D1OE 6015 AA
Here are some photos of the boat.
The rails on the side and back looks longer than normal

I'm going to start a new bottom, wood is bad, but do not think it's the first time it's changed. It looks like some amateur laying on the fiberglass or its not made very good from the start.
Are there any who have good photos of wood renovation and fiberglass construction?

Never mind the boat, is that a 67? Or 66?

The D1 tells you that the engine was first produced for the 1971 model year of Ford cars so if it's original to the boat, the boat is no older than that like Joe mentioned.

Here's a link from Fordification.com explaining Ford parts numbering codes up till about 1999.

The build sheet from Art Cozier if I remember correctly said built in 69 but stated no actual model year per say.

The build sheets wouldn’t have stated model year but we can infer from the date... switchover would have been around July.

Looks more like a skier than a mustang based on the lack of holes in the dash, but I don’t see a single piece of original hardware on the boat that would give us clues on the model year. Could be 71-73, likely 71-72 if there is no HIN on the transom. If you have pics of any hardware that came with it, we could tell you more.

Hi
There are 9-10 smaller holes that have been closed in the instrument panel.
I dont have seats or any hardware , only boat and "driveline"
I can see holes that It has been closed in the front deck.

Skier or mustang but I’d put money on it being a skier, epspecually like tim said about the lack of holes for gauges. The smaller holes would be for your fuses/switches for bilge pump, blower and light switches. Never seen a boat with the grab rail like that, pretty neat.

Rail isn’t original. The mustang would have had extra holes where the upholstered gauge cluster screwed in (as well as all the coaming pads, etc. Correct that the filled lower holes are from the switches and fuses.

Hi
I can see there are different instrument board designs or is it the year ?
My bottom fine is quite low if I compare with those I have otherwise seen, there are different models or have mine just been shortened.
