I’m having trouble removing the floor panel in which inspection hatch is in. I tried to remove the rear seat base/gas tank cover but can’t get that out either. Can anyone point me in the right direction to get that floor panel out please?

Did you remove the dog house? If so the floor panel will lift up for easy removal.

Jed,
Not knowing if the slang term down there, is used. what David refers to as the "dog house" is the engine cover. |

Correct, I thought it was a universal term.

Yes I did that, I can lift the floor slightly on the end but will not slide out from under the seat base. I just wondered whether there is something under preventing it from sliding out? And how does that seat base come off also, it doesn’t have any fixings other than the two small plastic bits for the seat cushion bungees to tie to?

Initially my floor panel was a bit tight to remove. I just wiggled the panel from side to side at the forward end and it slid out, I have a 2004 196 but they were the same from 2002-2009. Not sure about removing the seat base, never tried it.
