Checking the temperature on a generator has so many variables. You have a better chance getting a clear and steady vote from Hillary.

Kinda conflicting statements The term Delta T (ΔT) is the difference of temperature between two measuring points. edit: Pete types faster than I do |

Generator is 12000 watts not sure on delta T , briggs isn't exactly forth coming in their manuals , but it runs like a scaled dawg during a hurricane in all kinds of weather. electric start too. survived ice storms of South Carolina. It does run a tad cooler on synthetic i checked on infrared gun.
VR1 update poured all mine in the yard to kill some weeds , cheaper than roundup. |

Ross,
I think you missed this. I'm curious on how much cooled the generator runs.

I ordered and received 4 cases on the first go round.
Second time I ordered 2 more for me and 3 for a buddy, couple days later I received an email from Amazon that they had realized they had miss priced the the item ( 6 pack of VR1 20w-50) and would honor the price for 1 item not the full order. They will be sending me my order( reduced to 1 by them) shortly. It was great while it lasted! |

I have a late 80's PCM manual that recommends 10-30 or 10-40 also. If you could get it it would not hurt but IMHO we don't jump in our boats like we do our cars and take right off. They are brought up to temp before we work them hard so the 20-50 seems to work fine. Looking further through the manual though they contradict themselves having you use straight weights. This is a good example of the book being out of date, which manufacturer is going to do oil tests on their old engines - |

How do they sell that stuff so cheaply? Is it a lost leader? I thought 20% off retail at NAPA was a great deal last year. This deal was about 75% off.

My 4 cases showed up with in days of ordering. Thanks to the OP for giving us a heads up on a great $$ deal.
Just sitting on the shelf waiting to put in at next oil change. Have not noticed it "sludging up" in the container yet. |

9 cases delivered to my back porch within 5 days of ordering... average price about 15 dollars a 6 pack. Should be enough to break in a few new engines and bring a few old ones back to life. I probably ran close to that much oil through one 413 Chrysler last year chasing an intermittent water making issue - |

When I was a pup I had a '37 Plymouth 6cyl flat, My guess is it had a broken oil ring.
'ol joke was true, I would check the gas & fill up the oil. I bought used oil for like $3/ 5 gals. I wish I knew then what I know now so I could have rebuilt it. Was a cool car with crank-out windshield & 3 on the floor. |

Here’s the kicker; No Oil Changes in most applications during the "Useful Life" of the vehicle or equipment Aside from the website looking like it was put together by a 3rd grader.... I guess when the engine fails, it’s useful life has come to an end. |

Peter, Yes there is plenty more to the story and thanks for the links. However, you are late to the party and aren't following. BTW, who made natural gas? |

SYNTHETIC OIL: "Synthetic oil is a lubricant consisting of chemical compounds that are artificially made. Synthetic lubricants can be manufactured using chemically modified petroleum components rather than whole crude oil, but can also be synthesized from other raw materials. The base material, however, is still overwhelmingly crude oil that is distilled and then modified physically and chemically." Note the statement regarding "base material". It's make from dino oil!! |
