I'm going to do some creativity with that stuff this season as well
let us know how it goes!

I will certainly do so! Probably looking at another month to month and a half before weather can be reliable for northwestern, PA.

I have the same situation going on. Kids in and out, lots of traffic, dirt, water, etc. It is supposed to be super easy to clean up. I do know that the stuff dries out incredibly quick!

As far as templates go-- how close is a '98 to a 93'? Jeff from PN did some resto-mods on his '98 Ski and has Sea Dek the whole way through. I know they keep their templates for others that come wanting the product. So, best way to find out would be to contact them and ask.

Hydro Turf will not have any templates made. This comes is a big sheet (roughly a 4' x 8' piece). I have enough resources in my family/friend group that lay carpet -- and I am adventurous myself, so I will be tackling this.

If money were not a concern -- I personally would have probably done Sea Dek. But, there was a huge workload/cost to get my floors gel-coated the right way, get templates made, sent away, manufactured, and put in. It would have been chasing down $2k+ pretty quick. GatorStep gave me a quote that was about half. But would have kept the same workload. Hydro Turf came in around $350 with shipping. Then another $33 at Lowe's for the contact cement.

do you think Seadek or Hydroturf would already have a "template" for a Ski Nautique closed bow??

yeah, I haven't made up my mind yet to go original carpet, or upgrade to something new like seadek. I have kids that are in and out of the boat all day at the lake, and I get lots of sand in the carpet..and it's always a big chore getting it all sucked out of the fibers each time we get back to our cabin.

So just debating with myself on which way to go.

Through my researching on EVA foams for flooring, I found there to be several options out there. Sea Dek is a very nice product and they do a great job. There is quite a bit of messing around to get templates made, send them away, Sea Dek makes your pieces, sends them back, you stick in. I've seen several authorized dealers that will come to you and do all of the work for you. Also a pretty penny. Another thing to consider is if your flooring. It is recommended that for an adhesive backed EVA foam flooring that the floor of the boat be gelcoated -- or some other uniform flat coating. It will stick better and not allow for pockets of missed adhesion.

Another option I have seen is Hydro Turf. They sell sheets that have comparable patterns to Sea Dek. You would have to fit and cut all of this, but, they only advise using a good contact cement and having the floor painted for application. Hydro Turf also has a 3M adhesive backing. These are both considerable cheaper than Sea Dek. I will say that the Sea Dek does look sharp when they have all of the pieces made for your boat. Much cleaner than Hydro Turf.

There is also GatorStep on the market. Probably the most comparable to Sea Dek. Same process as far as I can tell.

And lastly, there is stuff on Amazon that comes from China. I have read through those comments and noticed that it might be tough to get matching colors on multiple sheets. That option is the cheapest yet! Lol.

Good luck in your search! I will be following. I took out my carpet and have my Hydro Turf ready for my '88 Martinique when the weather breaks here. Went with the faux teak over black.

Hey guys,

so this spring when we get dug out of all of our snow here in Wisconsin. I am wanting to replace my old wearing out grey carpet in the bottom of my 93 Closed Bow S.N. Should I go with carpet again, or something like Sea Deck? Are there pre-cut (ready to lay) pieces available out there for my boat??

Just thought I'd ask.
