1998 Sport Nautique: OK, I'm the guy who is endless learning so...

I have posted here earlier about intermittent starting and gotten help....along the way....

I decided after reading post after post that I'd replace my starter solonoid, the one behind the breaker panel. I thought I had rewired it correctly but now my engine will not shut down.

This is my wiring:

Anybody got any ideas?

Solved! My young man who is a lot smarter than me figured out to put the starter red wire and battery cable and red breaker wires on one terminal while the starter red was on the other terminal.

With a 98 you have the smaller PMGR starter and it should be wired like this version of the TRB diagram

It looks a lot like the diagram that is posted frequently except for the starter wiring.

Note 1 really should say Ford PMGR starter with 2 wires

It shows one way to wire the PMGR starter

I think your description matches this diagram

The diagram shows a yellow but you probably have a red 10 or 12 gauge wire there.

Good young man ya got there
