Just a friendly note to check those throttle connectors :) Looking at lubricating my cable and discovered that there was a bit of wear on my connector.

After investigation the cause of the wear was due to some metal on metal friction due to the rubber dust protectors failing. Easy enough to fix if you have the parts on hand.

David,
Have I missed something? Where are these rubber dust protectors?

The dust protectors are on the morse/teleflex cable.   The dust protectors failing caused metal on metal wear for the threaded shaft, which in turn caused the brass to wear.

David,
Ok, I can see where an older control cable will cause a higher load on the brass cable connector but ALL the connectors wear in time no matter what the cable condition is. I thought there was some kind of new rubber boot over the brass connector.
