In my 1994 SNOB, I tried to remove the sending unit without pulling the tank. The access was just too darn tight. I ended up removing the tank when I realized that I was fighting a lost cause. Sending unit replacement then was very simple. Additionally, with the tank removed, you can look inside the tank for debris, rust, etc. Also makes for a good opportunity to check the anti-siphon valve, hook-ups and hoses. Once the tank is out, changing out hoses is very simple.
I realize that my 1994 is not the same hull as your 1982, so your mileage may vary. JQ |

last fall I replaced the sender unit in my 1986 SN without pulling the tank. Wasn't easy but wasn't that hard either.

Thanks guys.
Going to pull it for all the mentioned reasons. Just got boat, no idea how long tank's been in there. I'll clean/replace hoses/check everything. Thx. |
