Hey guys,
I'm not even sure that I could make it... but has there been any recent discussion on a Green Lake reunion for 2020? This Canadian boy finally has a Nautique worth hauling the 800 miles and potentially take the kids to the Dells for a few days. Make a nice little vacation out of it. I'm just looking for some potential dates... it looks like July is usually the go-to month. Dwight |

Back surgeon? Would you settle for a Vet with an Al Tyll ? I think I know of one but he has not updated anything lately.

Very cool Fabcon, I'd be running down I-94 so we could caravan together. Maybe some other MN folks would join

Pretty sure it is getting to be about time for me to drag an old blue boat full of gear halfway across the country behind an old blue truck full of gear...

I just grabbed the last room at Bay View. Also looks like only one room left at the Green Lake Suites right by the boat ramp.

Very cool guys, it's nice to see some excitement for this. Has there historically been a decent sized crew that tents at the Hattie? I imagine that's what me and the family would do.

What are the odds of being out of lockdown by July? I am loving fuel prices. It could be a very economical summer to road trip and run the boat.

I feel you Dave - it'll take a lot of work/luck between here and there but I am thinking of taking 400 plus cubic inches of f250 and 400 plus cubic inches of big block Chrysler correct craft on the road to see just how much of that excess dinosaur piss I can burn running around the country. |

Dave,
I sure hope this mess is over with by July but I keep reading reports that it may not be. Along with our Wisconsin governor extending the stay at home till May 2, he has also closed all public boat ramps till then too. Authorities have already started to monitor them and anyone caught using a ramp gets a $500 fine. |

My opinion is that closing boat launch ramps and fining someone for safely using their boat is a rediculous overreach of authority. |

Stay safe. Have you looked at your states statistics lately? Here they are for Tennessee |

I am staying safe. I am familiar with all the models. I am happy to provide my credentials for being able to build and interpret data models and stats back channel. This is like throwing parts at a problem, something you have pointed out the folly of many times. There is no data or empirical evidence to back closing a boat launch ramp.
I have a kid on the front lines in a nursing home and rehab center trying to help super vulnerable people beat this thing, so the risks are real for my family. |

. Boat ramps, we don't need no stinkin boat ramps... at least that is what I was thinking when ours were closed last weekend - find a tractor and a reasonable slope and drop the boats in for the season. Luckily the neighboring states complained that New york plague carriers were likely to just go next door and infest them and our ramps were opened back up.
Hopefully everyone gets a respectable handle on this by july as Wisconsin and Tennessee are both part of my plan to see how much gas I can burn in a month. Yes Paul I find that my big block chrysler correct craft burns significantly more fuel than any other single screw boat I have been in... maybe it needs a holley... maybe I just got to get used to the big girls. Either way when a boat sits in the hoist and you have to carry gas tanks down to it the logistics involved to fill are worse than the cost. I often see the nephews checking the gas gauge before asking to take it out as they know there are two answers to that question. Either "sure, try not to die" or "you better put some gas in it first" and if they think they are going to hear the second answer they just settle for the pontoon. Well I am going to go put in some social distancing docks.. .and order some boat hoist wheels to assist with social distancing boat hoist installation. Keep safe out there... |

I agree completely. How launching a boat somehow forces crowds to gather is beyond me. Same for marinas. Are you going to not allow people to walk down a ramp to a dock where their boat is tied up? The boats to either side are social distanced by design. Joe, we have had the same problem for all the time we've been on our small lake, no gas dock anywhere, we carry fuel. Funny how easy it seemed in my younger days, a few 6 gallon outboard tanks would last a long time it seemed. Different story with bigger boats, and ones that guzzle gas. I still am the one that fills the boats, and you are right, the younger crowd is more likely to skip a boat ride than to fill anything! |

thanks to your son for his efforts. And where does it make sense to close boat ramps, but have 50+ people in Lowes and Home Depot? |

Pete, down here most of the public launches are operated by the county or municipality and are open for business. I was fortunate enough to navigate through 100's of walleye boats on the Wolf River Sunday afternoon. There was an obvious increase in police presence. I also believe "Safer at Home" is in place through May 26th. Hopefully the "Badger Bounce Back" rolls out sooner than later. |

Hopefully as long as the boat ramps are open then we can still do this . I would be more concerned about food options staying in a hotel but assume they have carry out like down here and hopefully open by then.
Even going to the shallows we should be able to properly social distance without any issue. Looking forward to it. |
