Anyone try an alternative to seadek that they liked and has held up?   I know.. you get what you pay for, but I have a ski team boat that the carpet gave out and need to put something in. Ideally we would epoxy the floor after we pull the carpet up so whatever we stick down adheres well to it. It wont be laser-cut perfect but I have to imagine others have attempted by now with something off amazon with some results. I have been search forums but not much luck yet. Thanks!

I suspect you’ll get more answers over on the other PN site. There’s a few of us in here that have gone the Seadek route but a lot more with the surf boat crowd.

Its a 2000 Closed Bow 196. Figured maybe someone did something similar with the Ski Nautiques. Seen plenty of the surf boat crowds.   Thanks!

Why not buy the real thing? There’s hardly any floor to cover in that sweet little boat!

If it was my own boat and I had $1500 sure. But its a ski team boat, still want it look nice, but have a budget to stick with.

Well since the budget is real tight and if looks aren't a concern, just roll on some bed liner.

Not a fan of bed liner in the boats. It does serve a purpose in some, but not ski boats.

I have a hard time imagining even a generic Seadek product costing much less than 1500$.

On amazon, you can get these sheets which to me see like a great deal. Replace every few years, etc.   https://smile.amazon.com/Eapmic-Decking-Non-Slip-Flooring-Stripes/dp/B07GF7SNZT/ref=sr_1_5?crid=11I3MANXIULO2&dchild=1&keywords=eva%2Bmarine%2Bflooring&qid=1581957261&refinements=p_72%3A2661618011&rnid=2661617011&sprefix=eva%2Bmarine%2Caps%2C310&sr=8-5&th=1&psc=1

Bedliner like Herculiner I have put in Hydrodynes to basically seal the floor up over the fiberglass floor and it works amazing.(then a synthetic carpet like material to keep it soft on the feet and equipment)   Probably is that its black (hot) and its rough on the feet and equipment by itself.   I havent tried the smooth type liner yet, that was not available last time I did the boats.

Seadek or Faux seadek the floor prep prior is somewhat laborious if done correctly. Why not just use carpet again since it lasted 20 years? I have carpet runners over my floors that have kept the original carpet in outstanding condition after 15 years.
Maybe just do new carpet and put some of Timmy's mostaccioli mats over it to help keep the wear down

www.carolinashowski.org     We picked up a 2000 SN 196 a few years ago. Great condition, but the carpet was just starting to show its age. Now its loose, sort of ripped. Being that the boat is used Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday the floor is always wet and people climbing in/out of it and skis, etc.   In the Dynes, I did Herculine the floor, then put a bedliner mat over it and came out great. Very durable, drains water, no mold, dries quick. The Nautique I thought about the same..the bedline mat is pretty thick and not sure it would work well.

The beauty of the spaghetti mat (aka vinyl loop mat or brand name “deckadence”) is that it will hold no water and drain right though. I guess it could be put down over carpet since its weighty enough and doesn’t need to be glued or fastened... but it’s going to transfer all the dirt and water to whatever is below.

On new boats so equipped, it’s most commonly installed directly over gelcoat floor. Pull it out and hose it off, then throw it back in. Doesn’t hold any waiter and it’s reasonably plush on the feet. It seems very functional for a boat that is used regularly. Google will return several suppliers who sell it (the generic version- id go with unbacked) at somewhat reasonable prices.

This is a premium offering on other brands such as MC and Malibu, etc.
