Hi all,
i have to put a new propeller on a 1987 barefoot nautique. ACMEs conversion list says to put the #480 on her (diameter: 13, pitch: 12.5, shaft: 1", 4 blade). I'd think a 4-blade ist always better than a 3-blade when pulling wakeboarders and putting some ballast into the boat, but i read a lot of positive threads about the acme #540 which is a 3-blade. Am i wrong about the 4-blade props? TIA, Tom |

what engine do you have a 351w or 454 big block, They say the ACME 3-blades perform better than the 4 blades. I would look at a 540 for the 351W and a 470 for the 454 motor.

Hi,
thanks for the info. The 470 seems right. Anyway, i sent an email to acme to get their advice as well. Thanks again, Tom |

Bill Weeks of ACME recommends the 480 4-blade prop for that purpose. So i'll go for that :)
Thanks again, Tom |
