I am going to repair some wet foam. What density is better to use? It is available in 2lb or 6lb from Jamestown Distributors.

Thanks

The 2lb. is what was used. The primary purpose is flotation and the reason for the lighter foam.

Read instructions of your 2lb closed cell
The foam I used was also dependent on temperature. Warmer is best(80) little more expansion for more flotation
Cold weather (50) probably tighter less floatation

h
Thanks

More important than the density of the foam is that it be closed cell foam. Meaning that there is no interconnection between the cells of the foam.  Open cell foam is like a sponge; water can travel from one cell to the next.  Open cell is almost gone off the market, but make sure.

Thanks for the replies. Definitely waiting until it warms up a bit more to do the work, and no open cell sponges for me! Looking forward to getting started on it.
