I have a 1986 Martinique that needs the original carpet replaced. I have started to remove the carpet and was wondering what is the best way to check the condition of the stringers and fiberglass? Thanks

Do they feel soft when you walk on the floor? There is also a video that was posted a while back on using the tap test to listen for a change in sound between solid stringers and rotten ones when inspecting a boat. Use google to search the site and you should see some hits for the video.
