Has anyone repowered a “2001” with a gt40? A 1989 specifically? And if so how straight forward is it? I just got a wrecked 2000 air Nautique with complete motor a trans …

I believe you could swap the GT 40 Eng and trans as a package. Your 1989 may be a reverse rotation engine, the GT40 would be standard rotation but the GT40 transmission will create the reverse rotating prop and it is a 1.23:1 ratio trans where the old transmissions were a 1:1 trans. That said the GT40 set up will need to use the GT40 prop. Is your GT40 fuel injected? Using it with FI adds more electrical and fuel issues to work out. If you run a carb the set up is the same.
