My 1994 Ski Nautique came with a 2-axle trailer. When I upgraded to a 2001 Ski Nautique, the new-to-me 2001 SN came with a single-axle trailer. I wanted to keep the recently-rebuilt 2-axle trailer that was under the 1994 SN, so I swapped trailers and put the 2001 SN on the 2-axle 1994 and the 1994 SN on the 2001 single-axle trailer. Both boats fit the "new" trailers well.
