I sold the engine and outdrive that was in the Freeport to a guy who lives in N. Ohio. Then I bought a 455 olds and Berkley drive off Ebay.
I'll have to alter the hull quite a bit and change the way the seats are laid out. The engine is much bigger and heavier, and it will have to be moved forward almost 16" so the Berkley can be used. I also want to cut the height of the windsheild by 4". All the chrome, guages and rubrail are in near perfect condition. The gelcoat is in good shape with some scratches and chips here and there...Nothing a gallon of custom matched gel, and a lot of sandpaper won't fix. I would love to have this boat finished for the "07" Orlando reunion! This isn't Off Topic! Sorry. |

Scott: Where are the pics?
As long as you are coming all this way to the Orlando reunion (can't wait to meet ya) and as long as you will be done with the Freeport and remembering what the Torino looked like.....could I interest you in taking the '80 home to play with for awhile? I would be glad to go on a road trip to pick her up when you are done. john |

Scott...Glad to see your Freeport project is going well! I like the color of that boat alot, I have never seen that color before.
What kind of changes are you going to make with the seats? It will be great to see you, and some of the other guys in Orlando! jbear...Its lucky for us that his boat is a 67, and not an 80 B/c if it looks as good as the torino, we won't have a chance.. |

jbear,I would be happy to bring your baby back to Oh. with me. You would have to keep my boat at your house, and bring it with you when you come up here to pick yours up. I have seen many pictures of your CC, and can't figure out what type of work you need done! It looks great! One of the biggest problems you will have after I finish work on it is....You won't want to use it anymore. When I finish a boat, I usually sell it, because I don't want to scratch it. My wife says,"Why can't you buy a boat, and just use it!"
I can't promise the 67 will be finished in time, but I sure would like to meet you,Mark, Blondie and all the other guys that will be there next year (2007). Mark, The seating changes I'm thinking about, would be a Vdrive sort of layout, with the rear seat forward of the engine. And maybe a bench seat up front too. But thats a long way off..Sometimes things change. My biggest worry is getting the 455\Berkley to work in that hull. (weight etc...) Do they have a custom catagory at the show?? |

Mark; I vote for a special "custom" catagory for Scott. Of course none of would stand a chance up against his work.
Scott; Interior of my boat is fine for now. Might have to look under the floor in a year or two, who knows. But the exterior is in need of wet sanding and new graphics. I would like it to look like new but I do not have the time or a place to work on it, or the skill. I cannot park in my development overnite and she won't fit in the garage. Well, I guess you could say I am kinda chicken to take the sandpaper to her. I keep looking at pics of Alan's boat (81Nautique) to remind myself how good it looks and he did send me the graphics program but I just can't get on it. We'll talk as the time get closer. Either way, it will be cool to meet. I think us C/Cfers are gonna have a great time at the reunion this year. john |

[QUOTE=scott8370] Oh.....Can you send me a picture and price?
I will do that soon, my new camera will be here on Friday, then I will be able to take those pics and many more. the seats have (5) bolt holes, so you can put any base you want on them, a swivel , pedisal would work good. |

Scott, I justed wanted to chime in and say that I watched the progression on the Torino. You did a great job. I wish I had the space and motivation to take on a project like that. Not to mention the talent. Where did you get the skills to pull these restorations off?

That's great. I saw over on PN that you are looking for an 81 SN Anniversary Edition. That will be a sweet project is it comes to be. Keep it up. I look forward to seeing the progress on this Freeport.

Pat,
I sold the engine and drive on ebay.If I told you it was a flat head four, then I must have been on crack or something. It was a Buick V6 with a Stringer outdrive. When I bought the boat,I didn't pay much attention to the engine, because I was only interested in the hull. Sorry about that. |

Scott Im thinking of the mustang that you bought in Mich. Thats the one I thought had the flat head. You weren't on crack or something . I did know you had a 6 cilinder with omc outdrive sold on ebay.
We are talking about 2 different boats. Thanks, Pat |

Mark,
Nice T-Bird. Do you drive it? Let me think about those seats for awhile. I'm not sure yet, how I want the interior. What is a seat pan? |
