What kind of music does everyone hit the lake with?
Me? I tend to break out my good ol' Texas country. Pat Green, Cory Morrow, Robert Earl Keen, Roger Creager And every now and then some rap |

When I'm in the boat alone, it's the early years of Judas Priest, Led Zeppelin, Queensryche, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains etc.......
When it's my boys and I, it's P.O.D., Lynkin Park, Audioslave etc. When it's my wife, the boys and I, it's anything Raggae or Grateful Dead. |

I Gotta have WSP and Phish with Buffet or Miles Davis between sets, and Cake. It's Grateful Dead and Petty for the wife. My two boys like Cake, also. The I-pod makes a good sampling possible through a small set of battery powered non-slip speakers to go on the dash. Like Nate, no added holes on my '78, either.

Hey Nate, If you dont want to put any holes or brakets in your boat then do it the coona$$ way.
This will play for 3 or 4 day straight without a charge. Just dont use your best icechest, save that one for the beer |

I agree with Nate. My 76 doesn't have a radio/cd player and it never will as long as I own it. I'm a musician and love music, but, being on the boat is the one time I don't care to hear anything other than the sound of the motor, or the quiet when it's shut down. Of course it can be difficult to enjoy the quiet when others want everyone to hear what they're playing!

Thats the coona$$ boom box.
I made it mainly for when we go to the beach. It has a small car battery in it and the top is velcroed down. Keep it simple and dont put a amp in it and it will play all day for about 4days, and sounds great. It also has serious sat. radio hooked up too. kinda multi-functional, keep your CD's towels, camera whatever in it and roll it to where you want and then you can park your a$$ on it. |

hey strings, I played 4 nights a week for about 2 years. kinda got burnt out on that, now only play a few times a year.. I use the sticks, you never know when we might hookup. Now I mainly DJ for wedding and partys, can setup small or go as big as 4 18"bottom boxes with 4 15"cabinets on top. All Blackwidow, with digital decca amps. Can put some serious pressure on your body |

I guess I'm old guy.
I just like the sound of the boat. When not cruising or skiing I like to just sit in the water and enjoy whatever nature is playing around me. Water is heaven on earth to me, while I enjoy a lot of music, I just want the water to be itself. Chuck |

Root, I was looking at that same cooler at Sam's Club yesterday! Never thought of using it like that. What a great Idea, I want one!
Music, I like just about everything, except country... depends on what kind of mood I'm in. |

Root, I hear ya. With a day job, 4 nights a week gets old. Especially when you have to play til close, even when there's only a handful of people in the joint. I'm too old for that these days! A night or two a month is plenty for me. When I get to go out on the boat on Sunday, the last thing I want to hear is loud music! I must say tho' the cooler is cool....
