I just got the bottom of the observers seat and drivers seat re-upholstered. Took it to an Amish guy Eric Lavine recommended to me. I had both of these seats done for $75.00!
Thanks again Eric. |

Nice job. Did he stitch it by hand?

Riley,
Good question! I was just thinking how wierd that their faith would forbid them using a boat, but they'll upholster one. One of my friends is a lawyer and he did some work a few years ago for some Plymouth Bretheren, they run a successful tape and adhesive business, but Bill said the offices were amazing - everything was 100 years old. Whatever, it looks like the Amish made a nice job of it and at a good price. I think I'll have to do my own as there aren't any Amish communities in NW England. |

He did a great job. It'd be amazing if he was using a foot treddle or some old machine. I can't believe it was by hand. I wonder if he does covers?

you got it Eric, they like those dollars as much as anyone else.
I asked him about doing the back seats next year and he mentioned that he has a lady that can do embroidery work and if she doesn't have a logo she can go on the computer and get it. So apparently they are starting to embrace technology more and more. I tried to see if his sewing machine's had power running to them. I don't think they did. His shop is heated by coal and there wasn't an electric light in sight. |

87- he has had them since November. When I talked to him he said he has had them done for a few weeks and just hadn't got around to calling me.

87- I doubt he would be able to get it finished in time. He told me this is a real busy time of year for him and he is backed up (and they aren't in a big hurry to do anything). I doubt he would be able to ship it back to you either. I don't think the UPS truck goes out that far and I don't think he is going to tie it to his horse and buggy and ride it into town...

Nice job and an interesting way to live. If China ever blows our satellites out of the sky it will not affect them.

Here's the address: Joe's tarp shop 286 Co. Rd. 40 Sullivan Oh. 44880 Your best bet would be to drive out and see him. Any day but Sunday, probably before 4pm. you can Google the directions, it's on your right after you pass the Black River School. Nice Saturday drive. Take your motor cover with you so he can match it up. I know from talking to him that this is his busy time, so it may be awhile until you get it back... |

All done Ryan, I have a couple spots to touch up on the gelcoat and I have to put the top pin stripe on, wax it, and should be good to go. next year I want to replace the graphics and decals... Then it should look almost new.
