I have a Mirrior off a 1980 Ski Nautique if anyone is interested. The condition of the mirror and chrome is very good, but the black knobs on the end show some signs of fading. Comes with the brackets as well. Not really sure what it is worth, but will take $50.00 for it, plus shiping.

I have found a few different types of knobs at GRAINGER'S. Knurled, fluted, four-prong, even one that is blank so you could tap it any size. $1 to $8 Hope this helps

I still have the mirror, but I am intersted in selling it complete with the knobs and brackets only.

68 Mustang,
The brackets should be very easy to make. They are a simple "L" shape made of approximately 1/8" thick aluminum with three screws holding them down on the dash. The hole in the top of the bracket is slotted to allow side-to-side adjustment of the mirror, but I have found the slots to be completely unnecessary because once it is centered, and locked down, I only adjust it up and down. So, if I were making one, I wouldn't bother trying to cut the slot; just drill a hole.   I have also been looking for knobs for mine. The knobs that hold the seats to the floor on my '78 will fit my mirror. So I have temporarily used two of the seat knobs and I'm using stainless wing nuts (available at Home Depot) on my seat.

Wish I could help on where to find the knobs, but I have not come up with a place yet to find them cheap, I am a sales rep for the food industry as well as paper, pet food and feed. Some of the lines I carry contain this handle for disassembly of their product. From what I see my cost on this item would be somewhere around $15.00 or so new. The Complete mirror assembly is still Available if you choose to do so. Someone may want more than just the knobs and brackets, so what good is a mirror going to do me, if you can buy a new mirror for $18.00, and I agree that you can.

One of my suppliers has the knobs, we can get em for about $3.00+ shipping, they look EXACTLY like the originals.
