Hey,

What is the correct running temperature? I have looked through the post and I see several temperatures. I have a 1982 Ski Nautique and my temperature fluctuates between 140-170. Is that normal?

Clew that sounds OK but I'am not as educated as some of the other guys on this site.

all   I can tell you is I have a 86 and it runs around 140 at a idling pace and gets up to around 150-160 runing WOT or while pulling someone.

That temp sounds normal. Regular cars run anywhere from 180 to 200 degrees and that's with a closed cooling system.

Hey,

I talked with Vince at DIM and he said the original thermostat was a 143 degree and now Ski Nautique is recomending using a 160 degreee. I ordered a 143 degree (the same as is in my motor now) thermostat. It has worked for 25 years why change.

He also said if you see your temp get over 200 shut the motor down asap.
