Hi Guys,
I have a 98 Chevy k1500 - 3 in. lift, 33's with 148,000 on it. Today I had something I've never experienced before. At just above idle (1000 rpm) when I step on the brake the pedal is hard and the truck will lurch forward - not good. When the truck finally stops and I hold my foot on the pedal there is a hissing noise inside the cab and the rpms hold around 1000??? If I shift into neutral and take my foot off the brake pedal the rpms come down and the whole system works properly. I miss my 78 CJ7...knew how to fix that. |

for sure gotta ski, either the hose going to the booster or the diaphram on the booster itself, the hiss you are hearing is vacuum leaking, look for oil near the booster,

This is only one reason why I love this forum, thanks again. |
