    Posted: July-29-2007 at 10:13am
When I shift from neutral idle to forward- or reverse idle (650 RPM), I hear a strange rattling noise probably coming from the gearbox.
When I increase RPM to about 800 or higher, the noise dissapears.

Is this a gearbox which is going to crash soon, or has somebody an idea what it could be?

Thx, Michel

Thanks for the replies.

(Dont hope that the damper plate is bad though...)

Is it also possible that the gear-shift-cable is not properly adjusted?

I'm not the expert here, but it sounds like the plate if your motor and idle are soild

it'll take a few, but read through Eric's alignment thread

Michel, A shift cable that is out of adjustment will simply cause the trans not to shift when it is supposed to.
