Well I searched the back posts and I am sure it is there but I can't unearth it so does anyone have a link to where I can buy a new fin for my 84 SN. I know I could probably get the old one straightened and will probably do so for a spare but I want an exact fit new one for the boat cause thats just how I am. So who knows where I get it ?

Have you tried calling a CC dealer? Ive heard that theyre only ~$75/ea. Not sure if they still have the old shark-fin style or just the new square ones, but its worth a call.

Called two dealers, they don't stock them but can get them price about 160 plus shipping. I am fairly sure someone around here knew the original supplier and quoted about 75 in the past I will have to keep searching the archives...

I think it was DavidF who quoted that price, and Im almost positive that was from CC. Must have been the new square shaped fins ('91+).

This one looks like it's not as "streamlined" as the ones on our boats but it is a Buck Algonqin product.

Maybe it just needs some more work on the abrasiive belt machine. If not available, I'm sure a prop shop could help. |

In 2002, we purchased 3 tracking fins for my neighbor's 98 Sport Nautique from West Coast Correct Craft. They were about 75$ each.
I have not tried to buy the older fins. If you find them, please post because I need at least 1 new fin for my 82. BKH |

Thanks guys, I will get under there with a camera so I can more closely compare what I have with the buck algonquin one make sure it has the same number of screws, etc. I didn't try west coast correct craft but maybe I should call a couple more dealers I stopped calling after the second one quoted me 159 plus shipping. My front fin ended up pretty mangled after an idle speed rock hit, but not nearly as mangled as the one week old acme prop that was on it at the time.
Maybe its time to try out my hydrofoil fin idea to get that bow up... |

Thanks Billy et al,
I called Woody, gave him a credit card number didn't even ask what it cost. Showed up yesterday at just under $70 including shipping. Looks a little rough in terms of casting but I will probably take the opportunity to take the abrasives to the whole set. Further evidence that all dealers are not the same and you need to call around. -Joe. |
