Wow, definitely a scam!! The actual boat is at Lauderdale Lakes Marine (GL Sponser), saw it at their open house, nice boat.

Chances are it's one of these scams.

Hi,
I am selling this boat because my battalion has been sent back to Afghanistan and I don't want to get old in my backyard. The price is low because I need to sell it before April 7th. It has no damage, no scratches or dents, no hidden defects and was serviced one month ago. It is in immaculate condition, meticulously maintained. I do have the title, clear, under my name. The Malibu has 97 hours salt water on it, HIN# MG2A6539E707 and also comes with 2008 double axle trailer with brakes (also clear title) included on the boat price. It is still available for sale if interested, with the price as stated in the ad $5,460. The boat is in Seattle WA, in case it gets sold I will take care of shipping. If you're interested, email me and let me know. Below are the boat details and also link with more photos, if the link doesn't work, copy and paste it into a new browser page.

I feel I've seen this one on the diaries. Looks to be in good shape. The write-up says v6, but the pic of the distributor looks more like a V-8. Makes sense as this is most likely a 302.

Distributor in back = Chevy. I think the 230 OMC was a 305... if Im not mistaken the 307 would have been a 225. Someone correct me if Im wrong! Looks like a pretty clean M17.

Do you see that boat going anywhere any time soon? I would definitely be interest in some pictures if you have some time. If you think theres a remote possibility of you being able to own this boat by all means go for it. Do you know anything about the motor keegan?

If I did buy it I would do like the benjamins do and bring another trailer and strap everything down to one trailer.

I first need to sell my 86 before buying a project. I have one person interested.

It has been sitting there since like 1999 so I am pretty sure it is not going anywhere. The motor was supposedly rebuilt right before "storage". I will get some pics this week for you.

Guy said $800 for it but your not gonna get it outta there on the trailer its sitting on. Tires are rotted and I would have to question the bearing, axle, etc. Has been painted top and bottom. Can get pics if you want. Secretly I want this boat for myself but its not gonna happen anytime soon. It should got to a loving home.

Thanks Tim,

Ya that boat could be a great boat but like you noticed there's a lot of original parts missing.

I'll shoot a message and ask him a little more about it.

I *think* that youre correct- pretty sure '70 was the last year for the 'Cuda.

Windshield is from a Ski Tique. Platform is an abomination. Steering wheel is a cheapo. Bass Boat seats. Missing ring and finger. Actually, with all of the "improvements" that boat has gotten, Id say it sure seems like a project boat to me!

If you want a 'Cuda project, talk to Keegan- one of his neighbors has one rotting away in the yard, I think. Starting with all (or most) of the original parts would be an improvement over this one.

71 Barracuda?

Not sure if anyone else has posted this but I didnt think CC made barracudas in 71? I dont believe that windshields from the correct time period.

Anything else anyone can see weird about this?

I might be in the market for a cuda soon, probably more of a project type boat than this one

For thousands of years men have felt the irresistible urge to go to sea, and many of them died. Things got better after they invented boats.

Chris, thanks you are too generous. I will let you know. I sent a note to seller to get some more info. Probably won't happen, but...

If you go to look at it, I can give you some help in identifying the engine. We picked up a Barracuda a couple years ago that had a 250 Interceptor in it and went through a learning curve on the FE engine.

I don't really see the big deal in someone dying on the boat? Hell, i'd use it to my advantage to get a better deal!   "Hey buddy, you know how much it's going to take to clean up all this blood spatter? That's a thousand dollar deduction right there!".
