Wow that is a really cool boat, and looks/sounds like they did a proper restoration.

Correct year and It is Silver (or grey) but not a Silver Nautique. The Silver Nautique was black with a Silver metallic stripe and actually replaced the "Ski Nautique" on the side with "Silver Nautique"

Having said that, it appears to be in pretty good shape, at least from the pictures...

Wow very cool seeing one in that good of original condition.
Why wouldn't they take the time to clean/oil that teak deck though?

Because despite what this website and the rest of the internet says, teak oiling and maintenance is a science right beside brain surgery. It’s a never ending struggle for me to keep my 76’s platform looking acceptable.

Every time you see someone claim "the cleanest" 2001, there's always one that's cleaner. This one would be tough to beat in terms of an original condition boat. I'm surprised that boat has 800 hours on it.

Is that a Timex Ironman watch stuck to the dash with Velcro? Nice touch.

Anyway, I think that's a good price for that boat from what you can see in the pics. You could do a lot worse for $7-8k

I'm pretty sure that it a timex watch on the dash, I'm really curious how he was able to put 800 hours on it and keep the boat looking so clean.

I believe this is Jeff's... '98 ski that needs gelcoat work and an interior, but $5900 seems more than fair for that.

Smooth running 351, it idles at 300 rpm.

Jeff, not sure putting your full name in Craigslist ads is a good idea. Good luck with the sale!

Yeah, I saw that listing too. Does the trip from Maryland to North Carolina add $1,500? That’s an expensive drive. Still though, not a bad price. I tried to get a ski partner to buy it. May still. Any idea if it’s white or tan above the red stripe?

Didn't realize that. Perhaps he's just looking for a good reason to bail out of a project (says in the ad that he'll do the work himself if no one buys it). Also the Charlotte area seems to have an inflated market for these boats, wouldn't shock me if he could get the extra $1500.

Well, as I posted on Facebook after I was called out in a comment there, yes, a good bit of work was indeed done quickly to this boat. That call-out was eventually deleted by the original poster, who will remain nameless. My response, including my list of completed repairs, also got deleted, since that was a response to the original comment. I think there is value in getting a boat running and completing the other things I did to the boat in the few days that I have owned it. The previous owner is very lucky that he didn't end up on fire (or worse) if he was ever able to actually get that boat started.

It is a great project, but I already have two other TSC-era Ski Nautiques in the garage right now (one with the restoration completed, and another ready to start). This one has to live on the lift right now because that's the only covered space I have available. If I had more room, I would just keep it and work on it this winter. I may do that anyway, although the response to the listing has been strong.

Oh, and aupatking, the top stripe is white. It is kind of hard to tell in the pictures.

Jeff I know I was just giving you a hard time. I’m sure the other guys were too. I know how much work can go into a very short time, and how even more money can. Great find. Like I said, your price still is good.

This happens on here occasionally, where someone calls out someone else for their asking price. Just my 2 cents, but Im not sure I like that. If a guy is lucky enough to pay well under market for something and wants to turn a profit by selling it for market, good for them. Or if a guy buys for market and tries to sell for way over market, well, he will soon find out it aint gonna sell (kind of like that $47,000 80 Nautique over on Facebook marketplace, just to cite one example). If you think it's to high, dont buy it. Or if you want it,
but think its too high, have a frank (off-line) discussion/negotiation, suggesting, I'd really like that boat, but to be honest, your price is way out of line. (see comps) How about $x,xxx? Jeff's case is a little different. He put some time, $ and effort into it to make it more salable.

I'm pretty sure most people on here who flip boats dont do it to be nice guys, they do it to turn a profit....I would think.

Also, doesnt "fly bridge" imply a helm up above, either the only one or a second one to the one below?
