I thought about that as well but I got the "NO". If you do contact the person I might be able to go take some pictures for you. If it is stored in South boston or Dorchester it can't be more than a 5 - 10 min drive for me.

Dont encourage him! He already has a big CC in the stable (actually 2!). Ive thought those San Juans were pretty cool- and I may finally have an excuse to get one... plus, the price is pretty decent! |

I'm guessing it doesn't come with a trailer. But maybe we could get it to him using the Inter Coastal Waterway, some canoe paddles, and a lot of Wheaties |

Bret, yeah, I'm pretty sure that guy bought it thinking he could "flip" it because it was listed several weeks later. I've actually seen it on conway several times. Not sure what the deal is with him. And YEAH, dad decided to list it. All he sees when he looks at the boats is dollar signs and potential money in his pocket... doesn't want to have to put any effort into it. A little disappointed that he never gives me time to finish what I start, but whatever. I'm hands off at this point. lol. |

Well, if you need a ride at SJRR, let me know, i'll save some room in the boat for ya. You really need to at least spend Saturday up there, it's a great time with some great CCFans. |

I sent a note to the give-a-way San Juan that I'll come and grab it on the 12th if no one has gotten it yet.
No response yet... |

Would it fit on my trailer for my '98 Sport? I see in the reference section that it has 96" beam to my Sport's 91", but I could remove the guide poles easily enough. I wouldn't take it away from anyone who has shown interest, but could go get it pretty easily in the next week if still there.

If I had a way to get it I already would have, being boat less and all... Something like this I would consider first come first serve, good luck to all

I know it would hang off the back quite a ways, question is whether there would be any tongue weight. It would be pretty funny if about 5 of us showed up with empty trailers and started a bidding war! |

It's posting. This is just CCF.com website flakiness that we see from time to time. Just hit the post button once. Let it hang for a few seconds. Then just hit the refresh button. Don't hit post again. It's likely something at the CCFan server that's not refreshing the page. But the post is getting through. |

I know it would hang off the back quite a ways, question is whether there would be any tongue weight.[/QUOTE] Not enough. Especially with the shorty single-axle trailers with the bow stops. You'd definitely need some ballast, and not easy to do with a closed-bow boat.
That would be funny! |

I picked up a boat around 10 years ago, sight unseen and boat came with dual axle trailer, in PA. When I went to hitch on to the trailer I realized that there was negative tongue weight, the dual axles kept it from rearing back but I had to force the tongue down on the ball. The guy had nothing he could offer for weight. So, the challenge was to create some tongue weight far from home. I ended up at a hardware store, bought bags of driveway salt, I think it was around 200 lbs., and strapped them on to give me a bit of tongue weight. |
