That boat was on ebaymotors a while ago. The guy wanted something like 13,5 for it. It never met the reserve of the auction and obviously he still has it.

I wonder what trans he used in it?

I'd assume it would do about 60 if properly set up

Yeah, that boat has been up for sale a few times now. That mega trailer along with the merc 8.1 makes it very unique.

Sorry having trouble posting links. There are a few fibs in this one. I almost bought this boat before I bought mine. The guy that had it when I was looking at it just went through the motor and had no idea how many hours were on it but he said there were a lot. And it was stored under a carport for the 2 or 3 years that he had it. not that there is anything wrong with that but it is far from a garage.. The platform that is in the pics. is not the one that is currently on the boat. The one that is on it now is off of a newer nautique. If anyone is looking at this one I might be able to give you some info that the current owner apparently does not know. p.s. he was asking 7,000 when I was going to buy it.

1967 Ski Nautique $800

No room for another project or else this would be on the back of my truck right now.

Did he transpose the year? Those decals look like they are from the 80's

Nope, thats definitely a first gen, though it may be earlier than a '67 with the FE. Looks like its seafoam green to boot. VERY cool boat. And the trailer is already done. If I didnt already have a 1st gen project, Id be all over this.

Tim, what is FE?

Are the graphics borrowed from a later boat? That looks like a terrific project for someone.

Looks like an awesome project to me, too. I'd say 68 is about right based on the pylon and engine if it is the original engine.

The boat has been painted (you can see the seafoam green in spots where he started sanding), the stripe is meant to mimic a newer SN, the graphics look like an '88.

The FE was the big block Ford engine family, 352/390/427.

Bruce, was the 352 available as late as '68? I know the stepped pylon would certainly imply its no later than that.

Tim, I thought it had the solid pylon, but your eyes are probably far better than mine. According to my manuals the 352 was still available in 68 as the 250 HP. The 68's had water circulating pumps and square manifolds. But as I've found out, blocks can be swapped out as well as other parts. Cool boat. Someone else on here is restoring a 1st gen with an Interceptor 250.

Tim, are you thinking the complete boat was painted and the stuff around the spray rails is the Original gel, the seafoam green color?

Bruce, Im pretty sure I see the steps in the pylon, but our '68 Stang had the same one. Id say its a '68 or earlier based on that. I dont think Ive ever seen a CC that new with an FE, good call on the manual. This one definitely has the circ pump, so its a later version. Phil's '63 originally had a 352, but I believe he is installing a 390.

This boat and the one that Reid had for a moment are the only 2 first gens that Ive seen in seafoam- very cool.

Steve, thats exactly what Im thinking. In the ad he says he's started sanding the boat- the spray rail looks new, so Im betting he did that area first.

The 68 brochures show Interceptor 250 being offered in the SN and some of the larger boats.

That's a great project boat. Unusual color and engine!

I don't really see the big deal in someone dying on the boat? Hell, i'd use it to my advantage to get a better deal!   "Hey buddy, you know how much it's going to take to clean up all this blood spatter? That's a thousand dollar deduction right there!".

If you go to look at it, I can give you some help in identifying the engine. We picked up a Barracuda a couple years ago that had a 250 Interceptor in it and went through a learning curve on the FE engine.

For thousands of years men have felt the irresistible urge to go to sea, and many of them died. Things got better after they invented boats.

71 Barracuda?

Not sure if anyone else has posted this but I didnt think CC made barracudas in 71? I dont believe that windshields from the correct time period.

Anything else anyone can see weird about this?

I might be in the market for a cuda soon, probably more of a project type boat than this one

I *think* that youre correct- pretty sure '70 was the last year for the 'Cuda.

Windshield is from a Ski Tique. Platform is an abomination. Steering wheel is a cheapo. Bass Boat seats. Missing ring and finger. Actually, with all of the "improvements" that boat has gotten, Id say it sure seems like a project boat to me!

If you want a 'Cuda project, talk to Keegan- one of his neighbors has one rotting away in the yard, I think. Starting with all (or most) of the original parts would be an improvement over this one.

Thanks Tim,

Ya that boat could be a great boat but like you noticed there's a lot of original parts missing.

I'll shoot a message and ask him a little more about it.
