Is a marine alternator wound differently than auto on a reverse rotation motor?

two sided coin. the ac voltage will be converted to dc no matter which way it spins, but i do know someone that had a bad experience putting a gm alt on a vw motor that spun the wrong direction. it could have been just his bad karma. he is a lawyer.

you need to use the marine housing to keep the flame potential in check. the screens stifle the flame.

i have never seen a seperate part number for forward or reverse motors, so i would assume that direction does not matter.
