NOW FOR THE TRUTH.....
First things first. I have never had anything like this happen in all of the years that I have sold items that I no longer wanted or needed. Dave Newey jerked me around like a yo-yo on this trailer. Here is an email received from Dave regarding the trailer. Original Message ----- From: David Newey Date: Wednesday, January 11, 2006 3:50 pm Subject: Re: photos..... > Paul, > I'm afraid that after checking around with about 4 Naut. > dealers, it seems that it's not a good idea to put an '86 Naut. on > a '93 trailer. I think it's too > risky to take the chance, especially since I already have a > trailer that works. I was really hoping to upgrade to your > trailer but I guess I'll have to pass. > > Dave I emailed a response to Dave the NEXT morning, thursday morning from my work. I work an hour away from home, work 12 hour shifts and left my home for work at 4am. I responded to his email before noon on thursday morning. Dave called me around noon to tell me he had maybe CHANGED HIS MIND and maybe he wanted the trailer after all.... But, what I didn't know at this time, was the trailer was SOLD, GONE, and I was an hour away from my home, the trailer, and the person that sold the trailer! When the trailer is GONE when I get home, the money is in my house, what was I supposed to do...? Dave had DAYS after I emailed him photos of the trailer to come get it. He is 1 hour from me and I even offered to pull it closer to him to make it easier, BUT NO>>>>>>>> he wanted to ask "4 Dealers" if the trailer would work for him, and in the meantime, someone else purchased it, plain and simple. NEXT......All, and I do mean every one of the people on this thread that have sided with Dave and said ONE negative thing about me, or any of my previous transaction on this forum or ebay, or whatever.........plain and simply stated DO NOT KNOW ME, and I CAN STATE FOR THE RECORD I HAVE HAD no BUSINESS DEALINGS WITH ANY OF THESE PEOPLE AT ALL. I have NEVER emailed 79nautique about "listing his boat" or whatever he is saying and with the exception of bwooton, I have never emailed any of these people at all!!! I did NOT email bwooton first, he emailed ME trying to sell or trade his boat. I was NOT interested after seeing photos, so what am I guilty of..."Felonious FAILURE TO EMAIL A NO THANK YOU" ?? I consider most of the people ranting on this thread as cyber cowards. It is really manly to sit at a keyboard and spit venom on issues you know NOTHING about...... 79nautique has quite a history on here doing just that, and I am not going to fall for it. I will not waste my time past this entry getting into a debate with someone that makes bashing people on threads as there only source of entertainment. Luckily for me, I have a job, and a LIFE, something others are apparently missing. I am guilty of one thing.....selling items, some small, some big (boats) with the help of this board. Some things I have listed locally, on ebay, as well as here at the same time. I have also purchased a lot of items from people on here, and I have NEVER had any problems until this. I have neglected to make a donation to this site, but will be doing that this weekend. That is what I am guilty of. I have been selling things on ebay and such since 1998. I have had hundreds and hundreds of transactions on ebay, and I have been lied to and scammed a few times. My feedback will reflect a super positive rating with a few scammers that I didn't fall for.....like the ones that pay me for an item....I send it...and they email me later saying they didn't get it and want a replacement or their money back. On a $20 item that I have only one of,,,,this was sent without the buyer paying for insurance.....then he demands a replacement.....! I have had this happen a few times and we traded negative feedback. Sometimes the people SAY they send money, I NEVER received a thing and then get slammed with negative feedback. The people on this thread that are running their meat lockers about my ebay transactions,,,,,,list YOUR user ID on here so we all can view your feedback. Lets see how many transactions you have had. If you reach into your common sense area of your brain you will realize the odds are favorible that you will have some misfortune if you have over 400 transactions on ebay. Now after I have said all this, I will not be responding to any of this trash. I have better things to do. I will make a donation to this site for my previous sales, and be vigilant for future sales. Now we can see who has a LIFE and who wants to continue to play CYBER COWARD. Thanks Keith, for all you do! Paul |

There are always two sides to any dispute. From reading both sets of circumstances and the emails sent by both parties it looks like Nautiquefanatic acted ethically. What I don't understand is why a certain member of this forum (not involved in the transaction) jumped in and started to slander this guy for no reason. Maybe someone can help me figure it out?.....but in the end, I respect the 'Nautiquefanatic' for taking the high road and avoiding further confrontation. |

You snooze, you loose. Sounds like the "buyer" wanted to conduct research at his leisure and then at some point decided that trailer was what he wanted, and at that point it was gone.
I have done enough buying and selling over the years, and when I'm doing the latter I ALWAYS preface during first contact that first in the driveway with the money takes it. Simple as that and I expect the same as the buyer. Based on the dialog I have read, I wouldn't hesitate to do business with Paul. |

[QUOTE=79nautique] I think he's a jack ass
Funny... Shouldn't 79nautique turn around and look for a tail? |

Paul is a good guy, I have had dealings with him before this site was ever running. I actually bought a 1979 Ski nautique from him many years ago. He was honest about the boat, there were problems with the boat I pointed out to him that he did not even know about. I live about an hour from him and we have talked over the years and he has always been a good guy .
