BFN Steering Cable/Helm

   My 89 BFN steering was getting heavy last fall.  Today I crawled under the dash for a quick look for a tag or number so I could get the cable ordered and found none.  I did notice the lower bolt of the helm had pink lubrication fluid seeping from it.  It's not on the carpet, so must have just started.  What type of fluid is this?  Is this a simple o-ring or something that needs to come apart and be rebuilt or replaced.
