I have just bought a stereo, amp, and four 6.5inch round speakers for my boat and I am wondering if anyone has any pictures or great ideas on where to put them? I thought about making mounting boxes for all of them and angling them toward the floor under the side rails. I don't have enough space in the rail for them I don't think. Can anybody help? Thanks Ryan

Here's a recent post discussing speaker locations.

Ryan,

What year is your boat? I built enclosures that goes under the rail for the aft speakers. I put the front speakers in the same location CC did in my manual.

See my diary.

What year is the boat?

I installed 2- 6 1/2 and 2- 6x9's in my old boat.

I used 3/4" high density particle board and cut it out 1 1/2" larger than the outer circumference of the speaker and then cut a hole in the middle of that for the speaker to sit. Then took a router and smoothed the edge down and covered it with the same carpet that i used on the floor. Here are some pics.

Paul; All kidding aside, everytime I see a picture of that beautiful RED boat of yours I am impressed. It truly is a beauty!

Really like what you did to raise the motor box. Real nice professional looking job.

Man, you must be proud of that ride!
