how do you tell if it is a right hand or left hand engine. I`ve been looking so long i`ve confused myself. Oh and i need a cheap distributor.

From the back of the engine, if it(pulleys) turns to the right it's right hand rotation.

A few of use have purchased the NOS Prestolite, screw down cap, points type distributor off ebay. Give it a search. Expect to pay about $50-$60.
