My neighbor has an 01 Supra Launch. Best I can tell the stock prop is an acme 541. He is checking his manual to verify. Thing is, his prop is at the bottom of the lake, so I am helping him source a new one. An outfit call wakemakers has it on sale for $379, no shipping. Do think that is as good as he is going to do for that prop? Do any better directly with Acme?
Looks like retail is like $469. Not that folks here are experts on Supras, but would someone have a basis for a different prop?.

Larry,
Hopefully we have a member who will know the correct prop but if not, there's got to be other sites that cater to Supra's??

If your neighbors prop just came off the shaft, suggest he takes a look at the proper prop thread that shows how to lap a prop to the shaft. If the shaft broke, one of the causes is alignment so suggest he takes a look at the alignment video.

Hopefully he finds a prop and gets back out on the water shortly.

Get out your scuba gear and go find the prop. It would be worth an afternoon in the water to save that much money. Unless it is 100 feet deep or more.

The 541 is a pretty good prop, its just the lh version of the 540 that is ideal for most direct drive CCs. I used to have a slightly less than perfect used one around - but I haven't seen it in a while so its possible I gave it away or sold it- or that it is sitting on one of my work benches covered in engine pieces. If he didn't like the performance of it then let us know engine details and previous RPM and we can make an alternate recommendation. - Gary has the info on the best price above.

Already in the works. We have a mutual friend whose family has mulitple divers. I think they are planning on giving it a shot on Friday. Shouldnt be more than 15 - 20 feet. Area isnt super well defined, but not crazy huge. Problem is there is probably a 1-ish foot tall weed crop in the area. If so, its gone for good.

The owner really isnt a tinkerer and didnt know what size prop he had. He was going home to check his owners manual and I did a little homework and I came up with the 541. He said it was a flour blade that was lost, so I am guessing prop swap by prior owner.    Not sure if he is going to seek out a four blade or go with the 541.

The 4 blade would be a down grade over the 541 for sure - and possibly cost more - there is an oj xmp 3 blade that is comparable that I wouldn't rule out.

Larry -- I don't think so. I was hoping to test several props a few years ago, and they said that they wouldn't allow them to be returned after a test.
