Hi guys! First post. I have a 92 SN. Boat is mint. Some punks broken into my garage and seconded to rip the wire harness out of the side of the distributor. This is the 351 with the coil pack setup. The distributor acts just as a sensor. There is a wire harness plugged into the side of this distributor that has a plug with four colored wires going to it. Can anyone please tell me the order of the four colored wires from left to right? I'm agfraid to hook it up wrong and blow something.
Thanks!! |

Brit,
This sounds like an excellent opportunity for you to convert the Pro Tech back to a reliable system before it ruins your summer as they are know to failure. Skidim has the retro kit. Welcome to CCfan. Were do you boat? Pictures are always asked for if you get a chance as well as a diary entry. |

Go to the reference section and there should be a wiring diagram in one of the PCM manuals.
There's a picture of the wiring diagram in this thread by Jpass posted by desert skier about 22 posts down with a good description of the wiring http://www.correctcraftfan.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=33526&PN=1&title=protec-ignition-replacement-question |

If you go to page 51 of the link you'll find a wiring diagram for a Pro Tec 351. Plug is in the upper right corner.
I don't see colors, maybe it'll help, maybe it won't. Maybe somebody that has a Pro Tec system will reply, otherwise I'd call Discount Inboard Marine and see what they can tell you. |

Sorry for the poor quality, but my boat is 40 miles away and these were the only photos I had. Not sure they help. I'll get a better picture as soon as I can but it might be about 10 days until I can get back to the lake. Don't let them scare you about Pro-Tec. I'll cross 1100 hours this summer and mine still works like a champ. |
