Hey Everyone ,

Engine noivce here. I tried a paper gasket in the thermostat housing for the first time. I normally use RTV. I'm getting a couple of drips coming from the gasket area. Will this improve over time? Is this normal? The bolts are tight, the surface was cleaned before installation and the gasket went on straight.

Thanks

Jason,
Before you throw parts at the problem, I suggest getting a true engine temp with an IR temp gun. Shoot the temp next to the gauge temp sender.

Regarding the T stat gasket leak, are the two surfaces flat?

Pretty flat. I ran it around the lake and inspected it again, now no leaks.
