I'd like to replace the seals and bearings in my trailer. 82SN with 6 lug trailer. Was really hoping to order the parts and do the swap without having to measure the spindle then wait for the parts to arrive. Can anyone confirm the bearing & seal numbers for this model?

Looks like a 86-87 Trailer.

There are 2 common options for the 5200/6000 lb axles available all over the web. The spindles are the same between the 2, the difference is the OD of the outer bearing, which makes it a hub dependent choice. Seals and inner bearings are the same between the 2. I have seen #3/4 cc trailers with both, the ones with a higher confidence of having the original hubs tended to use the smaller (5200lb) outer bearing but I doubt anyone can be 100% sure of what you’ve got until you take it apart.

Think global, buy local or something like that

Take one side apart and visit your local auto parts store and you'll probably walk out with what you need.

Or you could order 2 new hub kits and be 100% sure you’ll get what you need ahead of time, and you can clean up the originals and use them as spares. It’ll also reduce the risk of a cracked hub stopping your progress half way through the job.

Well if there's no way to be 100% I'll just take off one side and measure. It was worth a shot. thanks!

If you have a micrometer, you can pull one side and measure spindle, hub, bearings, etc. The bearings may have numbers stamped on them for identification. Good place to start.

Also, you can try www.etrailer.com and look under axle bearings. They have decent information and you may find what you are looking for.

I like "National Bearing" or "Timken" brand. I recommend changing out races also when changing the bearings. I also like to use a bearing/race installation tool. My local O'Reilly auto parts store has them for "free" rentals.

lol yeah it's a terrible idea and is only used a few times to drag the boat to the center of the trailer when its still in the water.

I finally got around to making a bolt-on steel mount that is almost done

Matt,
The winch isn't a terrible idea but mounting it on the jack is. Winches will become very useful as more and more boat ramps ban power loading. The bolt on stand you are making should be made higher than the bow eye so the winch raises the bow of the boat as it pulls. This compensates for the trailer at a steeper angle than where the boat is on the ramp and will draw the boat tighter to the bow stop. Then, you need to use the original turnbuckle rather than the winch alone for trailering.
