Does anyone have any experience with the helm/steering head on an 89SN?
Mine has considerable play, squeaks when turning and rattles horribly from the stereo. Are these a rebuild able unit? Thanks in advance!! |

I replaced my help assembly and steering cable at the same time a couple of years ago. made a big difference is feel, smoothness and handling. Wasn't all that hard, nor expensive.

Just threw a new cable on it along with a new clamp block, greased the rudder and adjusted the gland it rotates nice and smooth. The wheel spun effortlessly as well but didn't realize the play in it until I was back on the water. I think it binds under load
