Hey! My name is Candi.

I have a 1969 Spoiler :-D I'm so happy!!!!!

My grandfather and I are working on it together...I cannot wait to take my children to the lake on it!!! I grew up on and behind this boat! My grandfather, Papa, bought it new in 1968. It currently has a 351 Windsor Ford, the original transmission, and original v-drive gear box.

Does anyone know what kind of oil/atf/lube I need for a
CRUSADER MARINE V-drive with a 1.15:1 ratio?

I checked what I thought would be a dipstick, but there was no stick... It was just a square threaded plug. It looked like it was probably low...maybe?

Welcome Candi,

Cant help you with your questions, but would love to see pictures of your spoiler. Have never seen one in real life, torinos and separators, yes, but the only spoiler seems to have existed only in the 68 brochure. Do you have any idea what distinguished the spoiler from the other separators? That question came up on here long ago, but I dont think anyone had the answer. I just dug up an old thread on here from 2009 started by a guy who was buying a spoiler. Somewhere in that thread, someone speculated that it was a higher performance model.

I am really not sure of the difference. I have tried to figure it out.
I think, that The Spoiler is a type of Separator...not sure. They are shaped alike. I have read as much as I can find about them... I think the HIN for the Seperator starts SEP but this Spoiler HIN starts SP

You are quasi - somewhat - sort of in the neighborhood. You need to bring your Spoiler up to Badin in October.

Anyone have any hints on the best way to upload pictures? I posted them on my "Diary" but got an email saying it could take 3 days for approval...

Whoa... I think I may have discovered a difference. Maybe.

Did the Separator have the throttle on the side, where the driver would use their right hand to control it?

The Spoiler has a foot petal....
