I rebuilt 1990 351w pcm. Last part is crank shaft seal.
Been told ford parts split and some parts are unavailable. Any direction would be appreciated. Looking into updated timeing chain cover???. Have had two sent to me both are for a shaft of 1 3/4 mine is 1 3/8. Thanx. |

I'll say you most likely have the right seal. Not absolutely sure, but just like Ivory soap about 99 44/100 percent sure. You're forgetting about the harmonic balancer sliding over the front snout on the crankshaft. The seal is between the rubber lips and the harmonic balancer which is 1 7/8 OD in the sealing area and when you put it on, it spreads the seal lips slightly, forming the seal So you should put the seal in the timing cover, put the cover on the engine, see a gaping space all around the front snout, then put on the harmonic balancer and you have your seal riding on the harmonic balancer the way it should be |
