Brought her home today. Had been stashed in a garage, essentially unused last couple years....very well taken care of ‘97 196. 600 hrs on the Hobbs, two owners. GT-40. Had been watching it on CL since last fall. Patience paid off. |

Yes, 96 sig. was thinking of a project combined with brain-fade from home schooling. My children’s 2nd grade teachers are going to *************** themselves when they go back in the fall using the quadratic equation to solve! |

Always loved the Signature edition slant-backs. They kinda trialed the 97-99 striping as well as the 97 clamshell motor box. Cool unique interior vinyl too, awesome boat.

Did a quick search but it didn't pop up. What group size is the battery box in this '96 SN?
Thanks, Ultra |

Better double check your searching Sometimes 48 sorta looks like 43. And lots of people use a Group 65 in place of that 40 whatever it is. The height is the most important part for fitting in the battery box |

From our '96 manual in ref. section: However KENO, you would be correct as #48 OR #41 is clearly labeled on the inside of the battery box cover :-) |

I guess they can't make up their mind 41, 48, 43
A lot of people do use the Group 65 though. Considering cranking amps and price it's a good buy |
