What's the coldest water any of you guys have been in? With or without a wetsuit/drysuit. Mine was just this last friday @ 50 degrees w/ no wetsuit... 'twas a blast to say the least! haha

PLBC:

Freeze For Life two years ago. . . water was 33 degrees (according to Up Arrow & Menu on the Perfect Pa$$). Ice chunks floating and half the river froze.

Hopefully more of the same this year . . .

i know at that temp something turns into an innie instead of an outie. early spring though we always kicked off on good friday for many years and that water was bone chilling cold, but we did use full body wetsuits. i wont get in the water now unless its 75 degrees plus...

As a kid we used to participate in the Eskimo Runs. Skiing in the San Francisco Bay on New Years day hosted by the Berkeley water ski club. No westsuits allowed, water temp about 50, rain or shine.

We have a similar even here in the Delta, called the Frozen Bun Run. A few hearty soles will ski it in the buff. On gentlemen is in his 60s, and legally blind. Skis it every year. BKH

Air temp 39 degrees.

Water temp 33 degrees.

Being looked at like your insane by the local fishermen, priceless.

Freeze for life 04 was the coldest, by far. And I had a drysuit. It was so cold that my hands and feet were completely numb. Pulling my foot out of the binding was like pulling someone elses foot out- absolutely no feeling. I could hardly get myself back on the dock. The PLBC guys going without drysuits at that event- I can tell you firsthand- is insane.
