i have a boat and the latch bolts for the FCT are corroded and one actually snapped off. I'm trying to get the tower down and replace the bolts but can't get it unlatched. We've tried extractor bits... no avail. does anyone have any experience with this? I'm desperate and don't want to have to buy a new tower!

Hey Joe,

Well, i posted this about 2.5 hours into the bolt extraction when I was getting frustrated! But, i did get it out.

I had to remove the tower and basically just break the bolt so i could separate the lower half of the FCT (the '05 SV211 version) from the top half. Then, i proceeded to drill and hammer out the corroded pins. What a pain in the arse, but it's done!

I may take a pic of the pin that i pulled out, you guys would probably get a kick out of it.
