when i put my 64 in reverse the motor will rev up then go into gear kind of rough. forward isnt nearly as bad but i was just curious if this was common or i have some adjustment issues

Jason, If the engine RPM's increase when you shift into reverse before you move the shift farther to give it gas, then it's a adjustment. If however the trans is taking a long time to shift into reverse then you need to address the trans. A 64 may need some work however my 64 B/W Velvet is still going strong. Depends a lot on the useage it's seen and the hours on it.

Take a look in our ref section for the Morse control. It may help. (I'm assuming you have a single handle morse control)
