Hi guys. Not sure if this topic has been discussed before. Seems to me that the diaries section may benefit from a distinct Hull ID field that is searchable. Each diary listing would require the HID # be input (ok, maybe optional) and you could search by HID #.
This would provide some traceability to these boats and benefit current/ future owners.
Thoughts??

Not a bad idea Brad. I'd love to be able to trace the Barracuda in my signiture. I just wonder if putting the hull ID out there would benifit scammers some how.

Bruce, yeah, there may be some concerns over confidenitality, but thinking out loud here, many listings for vehicles for sale include the VIN #. You can get lots of info from CarFax by looking up the VIN that is in the ad.
This site and the diaries would be basically BOATFACTS for Correct Crafts Not sure what else a scammer could do with the HID #...

Brad
Sounds like an idea especially for older correct crafts. I would like to check similar year CC's HID# to compare to my own. It should somehow be limited to CC owners posted in the Diary, but I like you don't know what a scammer could do with the HID#.
If you see light at the end of the tunnel you might be looking the wrong way

That sounds like a good idea.

Another possible beneficial change could be to make listing your location more specific than just the country. I would be interested to be able to search by state or city (or lake) for other CCFans in areas where i boat, or for when traveling.
