So it'll be the weekend of 9-25?

We're happy to call our place home base if it suits. I'm mostly referring to the dock, but the screen porch and grill are just up the hill and anyone's welcome(except Pete ). The guest room and pull-out are still unclaimed. I don't think anyone coming will need much besides their personal gear and sense of humor.

We are already planning toothpick surprise and maybe a trip to Sam's for fillets(depending on dinner plans). Let us know what we can do.

John, when's a good time to call tomorrow? I know we've had the worst of luck with the phone, but if you'll give me a good time I'll call you even from the boat.

Thanks for getting our own thread going.

Thats the weekend as far as I am concerned. I think it looks good for all according to what was posted on the other thread. Me, Patti and jo the TN wonder dog will leave outa here after work on the 25th. We will be up that way late so you better get a nap Friday evening before we get there. About 7-8 hours from here. We will have to be back on our way south by mid-day Sunday. Bet we can fill up the time!
Can't wait to see you and Amy, the Moorfoots, skicat and meet his missus plus whoever shows up!
We are going to dinner now...early bird special for eric lavine...should be home and back on here by 8pm. I have a Sunday night Men's group I attend at 6pm tomorrow but am home from that by about 8:30. Call whichever night suits you...still got my numbers?
john

PS: why no Pete?

Okay sounds good for the 25th. However.........Kim and I will most likely have to leave Fri night as Kaitlin's County Volleyball Tournament is on the 26th. Kim is the Team Mom and is it's to determine who the county Champs are we cannot miss it.

Buffalo, Kim and I would like to plan on coming up Friday morning with boat in tow and hang out till Fri night then just make the trip home that night. It's still early yet and maybe the tournament won't start till Sat afternoon then we can just come home Sat morn. I'll give you a call soon to talk it over.

JBear you'll have to drop the hammer down and get an early start on Fri. YOU GOTTA teach me how to "Bear"foot. Looking forward to it.

Pete is welcome anywhere I am...almost. Just kidding; and I only kid those I care about?!!?

Seriously, I met Pete at GL and wouldn't trade his hand shake for anything.

Tim, it'll probably be fine for you two to come up Friday morning, but sounds like John and Patti will be in on the later side...you'll miss them. Yall can't work out sat night?

Our thinking was JBear and Patti will have at least part of a night's sleep on sat morning. Ski, foot, and board hard all day and then cook?

Whoa...hold the phone...we don't wanna miss the Moorfoots. This date is not written in stone for us. I just threw it out and it seemed to work. We cannot get out any earlier on Friday evenings. So maybe a change of date? One weekend earlier in September would work for us..the 18th-19th-20th. Or...how about Labor Day Weekend? That would give us an extra day. Or...the 28th-29th-30th of this month? Kinda close but I think we can make it work. Up-shot is..we gotta find the weekend that works for all of us.
LOL about Pete...bet he'd like to see your shop tho.

Just talked to Buffalo. If it works for the Foots and the skicats we like Memorial Day weekend. Gives me and Patti an extra day. Skicat; we will stay at Buffalo's and free up your extra space for Tom and his wife. Hopefully this works for all. But...as I said before...nothing is in stone...lets try for what works for all.

John called the guest room. Now we need a date. I still have a pull-out(3 really if we're tight on space). Tim, Greg, Jim?

There's almost no way I can get that out of my sleeve if I don't know when.

There's plenty of room and the welcome mat is out!

Greg,
Labor Day weekend is good with us.
Got a small conflict on that Saturday though. Supposed to go on a dove hunt, but those plans have not been finalized yet (have not nailed down the place). If I do the hunt on Saturday then I would hook up with you all on Sunday and Monday.
Of course, my wife, Robin, would not mind if I cancelled the hunt and went boating and skiing instead. And I might just do that inorder to be with this great bunch from CCfan.
Also, you can count on us for help with food and what ever else is needed for the weekend. We have sleeping space available as well.
Can't wait!
Jim

Jim, I know you already told me, but what part of lanier are you close to? Do you know little river(lake, not a band )? And I agree, this'll be a good show if we can get everyone together!

I think I heard from John that he'd have an extra day to stay on Labor day w/e. Maybe that will work for Greg and Tim?

Greg,
Been up the Little River area only one time by boat. Back in '88 took a nighttime fishing run up to Wahoo Creek.
We live in Alpharetta. Very close to Windward and 400.
Usually, put the boat in at Charleston Park in Six Mile Creek. Mid-southern part of the Lake, on the Cumming side, south of Brown's Bridge. Ramp here is good, deep, usable dock and twenty miles from my house.

Wahoo is one of our favorite skiing spots, and there are pics on this site to proove it. It is customary to holler 'Wahoo' as the boat turns the corner just in case anyone didn't know. And yes, we're rednecks...but some of us read books too!

We're supposed to be there now, though I won't complain about rain.

Do you and your's want to bunk for a night? Do you want to bring your boat? I have one empty slip that belongs to a neighbor and the side of several docks that we can borrow. We also have a ramp right around the corner(little river park). The city doesn't allow overnight parking...but I do.

Greg,
I did see the pics you posted from Wahoo. I will have to remember to holler when I am up there. Redneck is fine with me.

Yea, we where suppossed to go to the lake today too.
We planned on this morning, but kind of decided to hang around the house instead. Have to be at my mother's house this pm to celebrate my birthday. Yes, it is today!
Me and Elvis have something in common!

I appreciate the overnight invite. Would you rather save the extra room for some of the out of town bunch? If not, then Robin and I would love to stay.
Yes, I would like to bring the boat.

Don't think you're coming to the Taj Majal, but we'll find a spot for you 2; happy birthday and looking forward to meeting you.

Labor Day weekend will probably burn one of my surprises...just talked to the other.

Allow me to introduce Corey Bradley. He used to ride on my '79 and rode the BFN before it was mine. He's pretty sure he can be here.

Yall check these videos...very hard to knock him off his feet. I think there'll be some ruckus behind the old BFN!

Evening Alan; We are not gonna tow up for the weekend...I don't think. Just might. Doesn't really save us time or much gas not to tow. Are you thinking of joining us? Now that would be very cool.

Buffalo; Sweet boarding...Corey can ride and fly. I might have to let my nephew Brett up in NC know about this...he is a big boarder...among his other skiing skills. Hope we did not mess anything up by going towards Labor Day.

Corey really does fly. He's like a cat...throw him down on the floor and he'll still land on his feet!

What everyone up here wants to see is you(JBear) ripping a barefoot run. Corey will be by if we can tell him when, and 1 or 2 outlaws, but you'll be the star! In the last 4 years I think I've only seen 3 people footing on this end of the lake. Most in this neighborhood simply haven't seen it. What a bunch of my friends have seen is some cool pics of some cool runs on CCFan.

Man I wish I lived in the US would love to catch up with Buffalo and Morfoot again. And getting a barefoot lesson from Jbear would be awesome. Make sure you get lots of pics of Morfoot footing. He sure has a great screen name for a barefooter.

One of the things I regret about GL was not spending more time in the water. I was hoping to get a few footing tips from the experienced guys at GL. Been back home for two weeks now and the GL reunion and whole US holiday is almost a distant memory. Must be I had almost forgotten how cold the water was at GL.

This get together is making me home sick for the US and CCfan reunions already.

OK, you guys do have a point. On a 'regular' holiday weekend, we'll have the boat back at the dock by noon and watch the carnage from there. That said, we can also plan around when I know the lake will be busy(there'll be more tubes than you can pop with a chainsaw after 1pm). I can find us a cove at 4 in the afternoon, but it still wouldn't be as nice as 7:30 in the morning...and by 6, only folks like us will be out.

There's always trade-offs; John gets an extra day by coming on LD, but we loose half of whatever day people are here because it's LD weekend.

We can't do next weekend or the second in October(Shakori Hills)...otherwise we'll be here.

Okay then I'll throw it out there but how does the weekend of Sept 11th sound to all involved. John it will be hardest on you as your the one who'll be driving but the Labor Lunatic's will be long gone which will leave more room and water for us die hard Barefooter's ( WOW I can't believe I said that). How's that for you Skicat and Jimsport?

Either weekend is good for me. Leave it up to John since he is doing the roadtrip. I will plan on being there on whichever weekend is decided upon.
Wasn't too concerned with Labor Day Weekend. Just figured we would be on the lake early in the morning and late in the afternoon to catch the smooth water. Then enjoy plenty of good times in between.

That's the ticket!

That, and I know a few places that not so many others do. They aren't any big secret, but they're past the bridges the wally's stop at. Thompson bridge keeps all of the big boats out!

It's nice to ease into the shade anyway...we don't have a bimini.

And when JBear rips a run they'll all be watching instead of pulling tubes!

Gonna throw this up there too as a no-can-do weekend. Kim & I have the girls this weekend and Tamara will be 11 on Friday so I'm sure I'll have a house full of girls either Fri or Sat nite.

Looks like this year it may need to be Sept 11-13th for us to be there but I think the Jbear has something planned that weekend. Should have planned this Hooch thing at GL instead of kicking it around now and taking up precious web space.

Maybe we should plan this for the spring? It'll be warmer here in May than it was in July at GL!

Greg, you know where the dock is by water; Tim by land; and a phone call should get Jim here. Maybe if I could get a JBear (read bear) here the deer would quit eating all of our tomatoes.

We'll be here and we'll be on the lake...on our way now! Amy says the toothpick surprise is on the menu. Let us know.

Jim, next time you put in, give us a call and we'll give you a tour of Little River Pond.

Ok...lets nail this down. I will bow to the idea that LD weekend is gonna suck. It is a coin flip between the 19th-20th and the 26th-27th for us. Unfortunatly it just looks like the Foots will be out. We'll catch them at the St Johns or maybe we will do this again in the Spring. But I don't wanna wait till then. Ok boys...what will it be? If I hadta pick one..I think I would go for the 26th-27th.

Hopefully we will get both Gregs, Jim and maybe a few others will stop by your dock. Buffalo...guest room still avalible? We will be leaving the wonder dog at home I believe.

Called about 8:30 this evening. I am up till about mid-night or we will talk Sunday.

Per my previous post...we like the 26th-27th. We need skicat and jimsport to weight in. Can't wait to try that "bath water" as Moorfoot called it on another thread. And chicken toothpick surprise.

Well.....we started with the 25th-26th-27th and now we are back there again! I have not talked to Buffalo yet this evening but I believe from his posts on here that those days are good. I think we went looking for another weekend Tim 'cause this is volleyball tourny weekend for you. But if you can make it up Saturday evening and/or Sunday morning, cool.

Joe; We would Love to have you man. Bring that barefoot suit on down. Moorfoot say the water is very warm there this time of year.

I would say...depending on Buffalo agreeing...the GA mini is the 25th-26th-27th of September. Can't wait!

I am at the beach this weekend, so I haven't checked in much. The last weekend works for me. Kathy may be out of town, but she has a lot of training for Sept & none of them may work for her. Let's make it for that weekend & go with it.

Joe are you in? If so, don't even consider a hotel. We'll make arrangements to pick you up and get you back unless you think you need a quick escape.

If we could figure a date I bet we'd have a few more in.

The only thing is it rained last night...the lake's all wet?!!?

Just got off the phone with Buffalo....here is the annoucment that I hope you've all been waiting for:

Sept. 25th-26th-27th at Greg and Amy's place on beautiful Lake Lanier!

C'mon "Down Yonder on the Chattahoochee".

Skiing, friends, cookout, sitting on the porch...it all promises to be a great time.

Now that we got the date (finally) nailed I'll let Greg weight in on the details. Just like at the St John's, if we all put in a little it'll mean a great time for all without the Buffalos having to do everything.

Can't wait to get together with some of you guys again!

Robin and I will be there. We will plan on bringing our boat also.
Just got back from a great day at Lanier today. Introduced my 12 year old second cousin to water skiing today. She is from Virginia. Never been on a boat before today.
She ate boiled peanuts, water skied and drove a Correct Craft all for the first time today. She sure is excited.... she wants a Nautique for Christmas!

Greg, are you coming by water? Jim, same question. I need to know how much parking to arrange. I have room for 2 or 3 rigs and there's room for 3 more at the neighbor's. I can also work my way down the street if need be(great neighbors and your stuff will be safe). The ramp has a ton of parking but closes at 10pm. I've never heard of anyone being towed and I see trailers down there all night, but I would hate for a CCFan to have troubles.

Speaking of troubles, I shouldn't have made that half-fast joke about Sunday. We'll both be here Friday and I'll be here Monday if that helps with a potential air fare savings.

As far as the rest of the arrangements, I have a few ideas but am very open to more. I'm thinking the roast on friday(I gotta eat anyway and we'll have a bear to feed ) and Amy wants to do toothpick surprise. We've also talked about getting fillets for Saturday night.

I like what John said about the way things worked at the river run. A few people did a little more than others, but the work was spread out nicely. From there, take it away!

Joe, if you're still thinking of coming, would a small piece of coosa board make it through airport security?

Greg,
I will probably put in at Laurel Park (I think that is the closest ramp) and just cruise to your place by boat. I will just leave the truck at the ramp since we have to leave Saturday night...unfortunately!

Your earlier comments are fine, no offense taken. I would kick us out Sunday as well.

Fillets on Saturday evening sound great. We can bring our own or pay you for our share when we get there. Also, we can bring sides, desserts etc. You and Amy do not need to carry the burden of all the food and drinks.

Call me if you want to discuss any other details.

Laurel Park is a 25 minute walk from here but only right across the street by car. If you leave the dock after dark you'd need to know the lake pretty well to get back or pull the boat before dark. Little River Park is right around the corner and less than a 5 minute walk; we live on the other side of that peninsula.

I'll pick up fillets Friday morning and we'll enjoy whatever anyone brings. At this point, I think the roast will hold out to lunch, but we still don't know who all is gonna be here.

I'm open for suggestions as far as what people bring and then I'll post for everyone later this weekend what we've come up with on a list.

Sept,25,26,27,.So is this the dates? Map,or address to google for maybe a NC State fan from High Point,NC? I use to live in Newnan,GA. Did their first digital cable wires in 2003 and 2004.Worked with a friend(PS Don't ever work for a friend) for 7 months on a 12 month contract--finished it in 7 months, he gave us a $5K bonus and said he was not doing any more contract work. So we came back to NC. No longer friends. So if the dates are set in stone,I'd be willing to tag alone if it's OK? Just me and the wife,Karen.

We'll be seeing you there Tom....and if I was bringing my boat you would be able to drive it. We are leaving it home and are hoping to get a ride.

As far as an "arrival list" we are leavibg Lake Wales on Friday evening after we close the store. We won't be on the road till about 7pm. Puts us up there in the wee hours....probably 3am. Sorry. Wish we could leave out earlier.

Greg: How about starting a list on here for arrivals, phone numbers and what we are bringing. Kinda like we do on the other threads (See Clinton Lake thread). I would but don't know how. Then everyone can jump on the list..especially to see what will be needed for Saturday evening. Gotta keep Amy outa the house and on the water!

Just reading thru all the posts I am gettin' excited!

Amy is working on a 'to bring' list. We've got the roast, toothpick surpise, and the filets. Feel free to add to the list.

1 thing I'd like everyone to bring is $5 to put in an envelope to Keith. This kinda thing wouldn't be happening all around the country without his hard work. We have how many active threads on that subject? Wow!

Tim, glad you can make it. Hopefully you'll get here early. We'll try to have as much as possible ready on Friday so it doesn't take too long cooking Saturday night. That way we can stay on the lake longer; and there's always Sunday morning. This time of year(9/25-27) we should get glass for as far as you can see any time of day.

I have extra parking arranged now both at the house and lake. It's gonna be a nice gathering!

Just getting back from being out of the country.
This sounds like something that Cathie and I would like to get in on.
Greg, do you have room for a Motorhome in the drive. I promise not to
open the tanks..
If not at your place, do you have a close recommendation ?

Roger, it's just like I told Marty...no way man.

We've got room and would luv to have you and Cathie! There's a small turn-around here in the drive that is pretty close to level. I think it would hold two campers the size of your's with a tiny bit of room to get the doors open.

I'm starting to think about a loose boat count so I can be sure of dock space...

Skicat-1 or 2
Morfoot-1
Jimsport-1
Buffalo-1
Critter-1?

Yall help me keep up with this and do you want to leave your boat in the water overnight?

Greg are you trying to change my Screen Id for me?

I won't need to take up dock space. I've got a 35pd wt with a boat bumper tied to it for mooring the boat. Works great so all I'll need is a tree or post of the dock to tie a rope to the stern. I should be good.

Also, I can bring a electric smoker to smoke some Chicken quarters for Sun depending on how many Fans are sticking around. Plug it in and in 4 hours. OOOoooooooooooo Weeeeeeeeeeeeee! Let me know.

I think there's another thread on here about that sort of thing! I'll try to be more careful.

Sounds like a good idea. I haven't even thought about what to eat Sunday. The more ideas the better!

I'm also wondering if filets is a bit ambitious for Saturday night. Toothpick surprise takes a while to cook and so do the steaks if they're done right. We'll end up eating at midnight.

Greg,

My opinion is to simplify the meals. I say just hamburgers, hot dogs, maybe brats, etc. Throw in some baked beans, chips, tator salad, etc & all will be good. Most of that stuff can be done ahead of time & nobody is stuck cooking when everyone else is playing!

C'mon now Skicat "We goona do's dis jus rite! We mite be havin sum yankee folk down hea fur sum sut'rn hospitawity. Weez jus got to do dis."

Really, throw some water in the pan, wood on the gravel, chicken 1/4's on the rack and plug it in. Come back from the lake in 3 hours and Presto, nothing to it and SOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooo much better than a hot dog or burger. Better for you too! Never smoked a Brat you might be onto sumthin!

I'd suggest this for Sat but not sure when I/Kim(?)will get there. Can plan for it but not sure what time the toutney ends.

LMAO!

I like what's been said about keeping it simple. With 20-25 people, filets get to be more work than they're worth. They should be cooked just so and eaten just when and so forth. What I was thinking about is Fans that can't get here until Saturday afternoon but still want some water time. I'd hate for Tim to drive a couple of hours and not get at least one run in because we have to park the boats and go cook!

Amy has the toothpick surprise worked out with a friend or two to help. It will be marinating by Friday morning. I think we're doing the chicken and shrimp versions. The rest we can do however suits everyone.
