So far, White Lake has offered up 'awards' for rig contests. Just for bragging rights, you don't have to 're-gel' your boat for this guys. We're trying to set up rides in a 2010 210 and SN 200.

Hey guys need a head count and boat count.
Thanks

It will be at White Lake, NC . Here's what the e-mail I recieved today said. Says we will get rides and tows in the new CC's.

QUOTE

i will get up with different campgrounds and hotels tomorrow. i will let you know something wed. sorry about the delay we have been slammed with sales. also, the skiing behind the new boats is doable, we will just have to limit pulls and space them out so we dont tie up a boat for too long.

Accomadations? That's what everyone is asking about now so they can make some reservations. Have you talked with campground or hotels yet on this subject? Then as soon as you can let me know ,I can post a link on the thread on the CCFan site. That seems to be everyone's question as of now.

Thank-you in advance

One snafuu guys. Most of the places on the lake don't open until May 1st! That surprised me. TimD is doing the legwork on the place to stay.We got one motel that he's waiting on to hear from.Man I hope they come through for us!We might all be staying in Roger and Cathie's (Critter) RV!

If it turns out a dead end, I guess we'll have to regroup.
Thanks to all .

Again, Thanks to Mr. Tim Dowless for the legwork on this accomadation place. So, I guess we can start 'Pairing' up as to split some costs on these rental units. Get back to the head count if you plan on attending, then depending on your occupancy, we can inter-twine with 'shacking' up.
Let's show our support NC and surrounding areas to try and get us a 'Mini' or "Major" Gathering-Reunion a yearly thing.
We could decide after if we need to secure another location(lake) after this one goes down in the books.

Thanks again, Tim and enjoy the rest of your 'Spring Break' with the kids

OK- guys- I don't know where this got lost in the mix.
http://www.whitelakenc.com/WLMotel&Campground.htm - White Lake Motel and Campground

I was under the impression that nothing opens until May 1st each year.
Mr. Tim Morfoot called me and brought to my attention that he was booking a place here. It's like 1/2 mile from the White Lake Marina.

I called Candice and she says they have plenty of space for us.
Motel rooms -double beds--$45 a night and the campsites are $45 a night also, but no TENTS are allowed, pop-ups or RV's.

This sounds better than the $125 a night at the other place.

Again, sorry for the mix-up or LOST communications, but this might be the better place- again, everyone would be together.

So,she said no discounts for this time of the year ,but would see what happens. SO again- either my mistake or lost in communications, but looks like I'll be trying to book some rooms here.

White Lake Motel and Campground
1-910-862-3947
Candice

Again Sorry and I guess we just got lost since the Link was on the 1st White Lake 'Mini' thread.

My apologies to Mr. Tim Dowless who took time out of his day to get this other Motel to Open- but then again, the Campground's website says 'Open Year Round'
Thanks again guys.

I say the White Lake Motel And Campground.
Let's start booking rooms and put your names, people attending, and if your bringing a boat or not,and which room # or campsite you'll be in, and I guess item(s) for the cookout.
Like Dave says, just keep this 1st one simple.

OK,

I just made my reservation at the White Lake Motel and Campground for Friday Night and Saturday Night. I will be bring my 9 and 12 year old daughters with me. I made a Hotel Room reservation. They could not give me my room number yet, but if you tell them it is for Correct Craft Fan they will try to keep us all together.

Will we do a Saturday night Cook Out deal? I do not think there are a lot of resturants in the area. Is some one going to bring a grill? We could do Hamburgers and Hot Dogs on the grill with Adult Beverages.

Donald's on the ball guys!
Yes, I guess it will be kept simple, Hamburgers and Hot Dogs.
I'm waiting to hear back from the Townsend Link on a big grill.
Also waiting to hear back on what Restaurant could accomadate us Friday Night.
So far, arrival on Friday, meet and greets, maybe around 7- go eat, that could change, Saturday, a tour of the Lake to see the CC's, maybe ride in the 2010 Models, the "Rig" Contest- waiting on where this would be and the time- So far I've said at the Campground around 4pm, then eat around 6-7 pm.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Marty

The Front Porch is one of the larger restaurants in Elizabethtown, and there's a mexican restaurant also. I talked to Diane at White Lake Marina today, she said Townsend was going to contact you when he came in from Raliegh today. I think the rig contest should be in the morning. She said she would get their web master to put an announcement on their site.

Guys,

Just so you know, I called the hotel this morning and left a detailed message as to what I was looking for in a room. It took them several hours to call me back to get my Credit Card info. Just do not be suprised if you have to leave a message with the Hotel / Motel.

FYI,

Quote from Townsend Link's E-Mail:

I will get a big cooker for you. Also, dianne would like to do the rig contest in front of the marina and have the boats on display for a bit. Could this be done before we all hit the water? Would you prefer a mexican restaraunt or home cooked restaraunt?

As mentioned, do I need to call them on the big grill or can you take care of that for me?

The Front Porch is a good restataunt with home cooking so I will make sure they have a table ready for you. I will talk with david tomorrow about the rig contest time. We did change the categories just a bit..... hope you dont mind. David and I were talking and kind of evened up the gaps in the best in class year range. We are having a pre 1970, a 71-90 and a 91-2010. that gives 2 20 year spans and a pre 70 span. i also have the awards being made this week. We thought it was best to cut out the fastest boat due to the size of the lake and our boat traffic. We saw this as a safety measure. SO, we have 3 best in classes, a best in show, a farthest distance traveled WITH A BOAT, and best engine.

Marty,
We are looking at the rig contest from 9-11 is that cool?

How does this sound guys?
He's gonna have a big cooker for us too!

Who wants to be the Chef????

Making my reservations Saturday.
I'll try and get the list going and then everyone can cut-n-paste then add their names.
White Lake is going to put this CCFan-Mini on their website too!
Let's show them what OUR FAMILY is all about! Can't wait!

Reid and a few somebodies and two boats.

NCH20SKIER---
If all goes well it will be 1 boat with 2 adults and 2 teen agers.

Waterdog-Sounds great to me I'm about 2 1/2 hours from White Lake and I WILL BE THERE (Reid)the dates are wide open for me, so what ever is best for the masses is OK with me. (62 Wood could make it, I've been holding some stuff for ya)

JoeinNY-I have reason to be in the general area around april 22nd through 25th, but could make an excuse to come down that way in May as well.

Oledawg--Once the date is worked out I am pretty sure that my '87 CC Riviera could make it there from Winston-Salem, all fresh and clean from Matt Santomenna's Race City Marine's storage at BBC Partners LLC. I am positive that there wouldn't be another one like mine on the lake! I'm in:
1987 CC Riveria 454 - not "vintage" but nice

Keeganino-- have a to coach my
sons soccer game saturday morning and could come out after that, but would have to bum rides as I am in the middle of my restoration.

Riley-I'm interested. White Lake is a straight shot down 95. Any other New Englanders?

Morfoot-By the way, I'm on the fence on attending.

JMurph--FYI...I am also watching this thread to see if anything comes together. We have a busy schedule that time of year, but who knows it might work out that we can make it.

Hey Guys! Great news! At least I think it is
Been twisting this guys arm and trying to get him out of Florida, cause he says next time I'm in Florida he's making me swim with the Sharks--I told him I Love Hockey!

But the 'Godfather' and The "ONE" will be attending The White Lake Gathering!
He says, he'll take off Thursday morn and stay with me Thursday nite, then we'll head to White Lake-Friday morn. So if I don't show up at White Lake guys, then that means I'm swimming with the fishes(Sharks) earlier than thought So I might need some Bodyguards before then. Chris you got your 'SECURITY' Boat outfitted yet? Come on guys might need some Muscle my way. Wakeslayer,Eric,HW,Randy,Tim,Donald,TimD,anyone? Mr. Eric Clarke- you're the Human Target man! So you can be the bodyguard! Come-on man- I thought you was ditching the Ocean Trip! Let us know!!!
Everyone WE WANT ERIC! WE WANT ERIC!!
So, Mr.TimD keep us abreast on the 10-day weather outlook!

Also got this e-mail today.
""""Marty, I've kinda been keeping tabs on your site..... let the guy with the pets know that "The Barking Lot" boards animals and may be something he wants to look into. The owner of it is a friend of mine.""""

So,the 66 it is. 1 VOTE!

Marty,

Did you ever think I was going to miss a birthday whipping...

All joking aside now, I have talked with others members on the site
about having something at White Lake 2 years ago. And now that it is
really happening, I did not want to miss it. Because we all know what
happens when we pick a spot for a gathering it just gets bigger.
I spoke with David at White Lake yesterday and he was thankful that we where coming to their dealership. And I spoke with Mr.Ralph about the event and he gave his blessing to all.

So all I can say now is see everyone there.

This was all it took. Now that Nautique John Morrow and Matt from Race City Marine heard that Dave was coming, they are off the fence, and dragging boats to White Lake. Then John gets on the phone yesterday evening to barefooting legend Steady Eddie Johnson with the Python BFN and it appears he's coming also. Oh, and I almost forgot Rodney and his 40 yr old sweetheart Olive Oyl (she's a boat). They'll be making the trip as well. And how could anyone forget Marshall Morgan and his "take-all-the-screaming-girls-for-a-bouncing-ride-at-GL" rocket of a '70 Mustang. Yep, he's coming too. And I believe there's more.

Okay, I'll get off the fence and throw in one Foot and his boat. I'll be coming solo unless Clarkebar's fishing trip gets cancelled. Well provided I get the trailer put back together.

I've got an idea and you guys tell me what you think. Instead of burgers and dogs sat night, hows about some smoked chicken instead? I did this at the Chattahoochee get together at the Buffalo's and it seemed to work out great. If someone fairly local can bring some hind quarters (enough for those in attendance) I'll bring my electric smoker (as long as there is somewhere's to plug it in) and we can throw them on Sat afternoon and in 4 hours we'll have that for dinner. Add some slaw, chips, and wash it all down with a cold brew and we'd be the envy of the campground.

What ya'll think about that?

Marty I have one vote for the 93 Purple Boat.

Now it is a tie. Someone must break the tie.

Chicken sounds fine to me. I can help bring some chicken quarters. I will be getting in Friday about 7:00 PM. I amy pull the kids out of school a little early. They really do not need an education. I can leave the chicken in a cooler packed in ice. I am not sure if the motel room has frige.

All my gang are all sleeping in the boats. That White Lake area is pretty rough and a bit shady. J/k, as we'd best be booking them soon as well. Thx 'Foot for the reminder. Heck i just remembered this morning that i'd not made my Hattie Sherwood campground reservation for GL yet either, but I called Reggie and took care of that. My motto's always been, why do today what you can put off until tomorrow.

Hi,
Is anyone heading to this thing from the New England area?

I bought a boat from White Lake Marine, a SN196 on a 1998 trailer that I need to retrieve or have retrieved right around this time.

I'm considering doing it with my Jeep Liberty, but it's not an ideal long distance tow vehicle. If anyone had a better tow vehicle, that won't be towing anything already, it would be worth about $800 to me to get my boat towed back to NH (or Boston). That's about how much shippers would charge. I could go with you if I could be back by that Sunday or Monday.

I'd love to go to the re-union and that would be a great bonus. I'd be leaving from Boston.

Brian,
You possibly could be talking about Joe from NY. I think he was planning to bring his own, but I'll have one there that he can commandeer. And that would at least get it back to New York.

Ok thanks Reid, that sounds like one possible option.

I was originally planning to drive down with my brother and get it, but we're on different work schedules, unfortunately. My brother may be willing to take the trip without me though. Still trying to figure stuff out.

We will be coming down just for the day on Saturday. Can someone let us know what time we should be there? I am assuming we would come to the marina first since the rig contest is 9 - 11am. Just let me know what time to be there. It sounds like things are coming together well. Thanks to all who are making this possible. You guys have worked hard on this. We are real excited about coming down and meeting more great people with CC's and getting to see their boats.

Jane,

I would say around 8 or 8:30 to park your boat in a space to be judge.

But you can come anytime if needed on Saturday.

We will be at the dealership to help out in the morning on Saturday.

Me and Marty will be arriving there Friday mid morning.

Thanks for the response.

As it stands right now, my brother is going to get it for me. Without me, unfortunately, cause we couldn't get the same days off. But, I should be all set.

Was planning to go when this first came up but unfortunately my wife had some complications with her total knee replacement and I will still be playing at "evil nurse" as I should be. Weather is still holding good for Fri/Sat, so I hope that this is a great event and becomes an annual NC one!

My family and I will be attending this event. Made our reservations today at White Lake Motel & Campground. The $50 was too cheap to use as an excuse not to attend. We WILL be taking our boat, but I'm sure it will look like a disaster from the road grime by the time we get there.

Anyway, there are 4 of us total including me. (Wife and two daughters 5 & S). Anyone else gonna be there with small kids?

Is there any kind of registration for this event?

I'm still bringing the electric smoker. I'm planning on leaving mid morning tomorrow so I can probably pick up some chicken hind 1/4's unless someone else has got it covered. I also might be bringing a fellow 88' CC owner with me. He's gonna let me know later today if he is going. Sorry Donald, guess I'm spooning with him this time.

Tim,

I can bring some chicken also. What are hind 1/4ers? Is it legs and tighs or wings and breast? I am upset that you are spooning with someone else. You told me that we had something special.

Reid might be on to something, I am thinking about 40-50 people, thats a lot of quarters for a smoker but wings might get ya there. I will have dogs, sausage, and rolls for 50 so don't anyone double up on that stuff, I usually fly into these things and am happy to be able to finally contribute more than my appetite. I am as good as on my way here.. gonna go pick up provisions pack a cooler and watersports equipment, play a little volleyball tonight, hit the sack early and try to get on the road by about 3am.. see you kids there.
