What started a month or 2 ago as an attempt to reconnect with the northeast CCF contingent, a nice little mini reunion seems to be in the works. We should have a decent number of boats in attendance- including Uncle Todd's Banana BFN and of course, the Orange Crush. Im not sure who else is planning on yanking boats down, but we have plenty of docking and mooring space to accomodate everyone. There are a handful of bedrooms/couches available, but plenty of room if you want to camp in the yard. Theres a hotel or 2 the next town over as well, but of course thats much less fun! We'll do our best to fit everyone comfortably.

We'll call the Benjamin cottage home base, the address is 52 Sandy Beach Rd, Goshen, CT 06756. All are of course welcome... any questions, just shoot me an email: TRBenj@gmail.com

Hope to see a bunch of you in a few weeks!

Tim, When you need go north, to Worcester or Boston, do you cut across to 84 and go north to I90 or do you go north like (7) to I90 and then east?

If heading to NY (Albany area), we'll head due north and pick up the Pike at the MA/NY border (either 63/7/41 or 8/20)... but if we head towards Worcester or Boston, we'll take 84 to the Pike.

You going to be able to head out this way?

This might be a possibility for me. I already have plans to go with my GF to visit her parents in Binghamton, NY. She wants to leave early on Sunday to head back to Boston. It looks like Goshen CT is not too far out of the way for the return trip.

Will there be anyone still hanging out on Sunday? Unfortunately, bringing my boat might be a toughie as far as fuel costs. We were going to travel in her Jetta to economize a bit plus I'd have to go NH first to get it.

I'm working on it. Between sports and work schedules I don't know. There is a tournament in Avon CT. on the 12th. I should be able to RSVP by this weekend.

What is your most dirrect route to 84?

Very cool. Tournament is at Old Farms, Im sure.

84 to Rt 4 (Farmington) is the best way to my place. If heading back via Avon, Rt 4 to 202/44 works as well. Old Farms would be about 45 min from us. Id cut over to Rt 4 and pick up 84 there though (via Rt 10, etc) when heading out of town.

Likely dragging the camper and not the Nautique.

Thanks for the invite and for offering to host everyone- Tyler Lake will never be the same again!

We're looking forward to seeing everyone there.

The 85 ski nautique will be in tow with me, looks likes I will be coming alone as my dad has a retirement party he has to go to for someone, so I have plenty of room on my boat. Brad I dont have the barefoot boom cables setup for that boat so all i really need is the cable section let me know if you can bring that as mine is setup for the 2008. I can bring my fly high if people want.

I will be arriving after I get off of work on Saturday probable around 2:30pm. And prob leave late Sunday afternoon.

See you all soon.

We had some Malibu folks at last years NE reunion. By the end of the weekend they were thinking of trading in their response for the new SN 200. So beware if you do come by, the Nautique bug is contagious!

Son graduates on Saturday. I hope to head over in the evening after the festivities, so sometime late saturday evening. Not sure whether the Tique will be in tow or not. Clearly there will be plenty of boats there, but I might bring it just for grins anyway. What the heck...gas has gone down $0.20 in the past couple weeks, live it up. Don't do all the fun skiing stuff (barefoot lines, pyramids, ATBs....) and not want to do any more on Sunday. Save some for me to join in on.

Tim, come on down!

John, your tee just hit the mail this week, but Im sure we can find another excuse for you to come out.

Chris, if you can work it into your schedule, that would be great. HW is flying into Bradley Friday around 11 and we're leaving him a car- check on flights around that time!

Looking like a good turn out- cant wait!

momentary thread jack: Joe, I was over in your neck of the woods (Geneva) two weekends ago for the last time (daughter graduated). Although (obviously, since in never happened in four years) its hard to sqeeze out a couple hours to stop in and visit on these trips, I always consider it in case a break in the action occurs. Wouldnt have done me any good on this trip tho. If I would have reached you, your response would have been: Oh sorry, I'm not in Auburn, I'm at lake norman with the Benjamins picking up the Orange Crush, which, needless to say would have caught me off guard.

Well, if the tee is in the mail, then there's really no reason for me to make the trip.

Chris,

I wish I was more sure what my plans are, but I live 20 minutes from DC. You could hop a ride with me if it worked out. If I go, I would probably leave mid-day Friday and come back Sunday morningish.

Are you in town for business or pleasure?

Phil- Don't think my cable section alone will fit your straight boom without some serious adjustment. Cable adjusts are real PITA on these red cable booms.I'm runnin a uni contour- set forward with an extension. I'm happy to bring the entire set up if you'd like.

Definitely bring your fly high.

Looking forwad to seeing your 85 all done up Phil!

speaking of booms- Maybe Unlce Todd will set up the Banana boat with the dual booms- I'd love to see that rig with both booms loaded up with skiiers!

Brad,

Gotcha on the cable adjustment part as I said mine is setup currently for the 2008 with extension piece, yeah I will bring the fly high. I think we will have plenty of people setup with booms I am assuming. But If you want to bring yours since you know it will fit the way you have it on yours. My fly high goes over my microphone as i took the ring and finger off.

The 85 does need new skins but that cost some $$$ might do the coaming pads by the Northeast Reunion but if not maybe next year. But I hope to take it out on Lake Zoar soon, I have been so busy with my garage project trying to get that to its next stage, plumbing, electrical, hvac. If anyone has Boat dolly's I can always take the 85 off its trailer and stick it in the corner and fit 3 boats in the garage hint hint(Orange Crush) lmao. My garage has a 18x10ft bay for boats and a 10x10 bay for my truck 30ft deep.

I too am looking forward to getting a pull behind the crush. Never got to ski behind it or drive it.

To go along with Kens other post, I dont have a barefoot suit but would like to try it during the mini reunion, should I bring a regular wetsuit to try this or should I plan to hopefully borrow someone's suit?

Anything I can bring Tim let me know. Happy to bring anything I can!

I'm sure Hollywood won't object to a stripper who spend the early part of their evening as a cook named Miguel but finishes off their evening dancing by the name of Trixie-belle

I am " loosely" going to try to make this event. I have had a series of real crappy luck this year and need an escape. Besides, i cant leave Hollywood to drink all of that Whiskey alone. I would be boatless, need a place to sleep, and only in for Sat early evening/night till Sunday mid day. If someone can harbor a guy for the night who just needs to catch a break , i may just fire up the Dodge and hammer down. I will rent tent/ couch space as needed, but honestly will be in no situation to provide all of the ammenities myself. I can however provide the whiskey. Either that or I stay home. Details Of said crappy luck will most likely unfold during campfire conversation. All of course pending a clearance from the wife unit... I will try to talk Carbone into coming with me. What say you boys?

Mike

I have been reading these forums forever and I finally took delivery of my new Nautique. I live in Harwinton but have a place on bantam lake. I would like to stop by this weekend. I know Tyler lake very well as I have many family friends with places up there. If it is ok, please let me know. Please let me know if I can bring anything.

Thanks,

Tim, The Banana Boat is almost ready and the double booms and clamps are set. We need some footers to test your '79, as there is already a picture of Banana George and 12 others (total 13) on two booms simultaneously. Glad you got a camera man ready. I'll be rollin' in Fri PM, but we should make a plan to stir up the water Sat AM after the "fog" goes away!!

Uncle Todd,

Hope you are going to be able to stay through sunday, as I don't arrive until late saturday evening and realy want to be one of the record breaking 14 on the doubles in the Sunday morning runs.

UT, glad to hear the Banana boat is good to go... unfortunately, our '79 is NOT! We came up short this week- we're missing a few key pieces that will keep us from being fully functional. We'll probably drag it up as a show and tell piece anyways. We'll mount that double boom on something regardless!

Tim, got your email with directions. That helps a bunch, we are still planing to be in early saturday morning. Let us know if we can bring anything.

Any chance we'll see the ski tique this weekend?

What is this key peices and fully functional stuff.. does it float?
I am told that thing used to run before you guys started messing around with it. Shouldn't be missing too many parts now.

Either way we should still have plenty of boats to disrupt the calm of Tyler lake with. Barring massive thunderstorms I will be pulling mine out of the hoist tonight and hopefully will be able to get the rig packed up and ready to go to work with me tomorrow. It will be great to see everyone again..

The most pressing issue at the moment is the lack of a throttle bracket. The OMC set up had some hokey 3" extender on the end of the cable, which is now broken. SkiDIM is checking to see if the PCM version is available or not. That little hiccup (among a few other slow downs) kept us from breaking in the cam last night. Once the cam is broken in, we still need to do an oil change and disassemble the valvetrain to reinstall the inner valvesprings... otherwise we'd have run it "ugly" this weekend. Other non deal-breakers include the lack of a connected bilge pump and blower, seats, panels and windshield... and of course, the thing is filthy. We'll have it at the lake for you to check out for yourself.

Glad to hear the '83 is making an appearance, Joe- Ive talked it up quite a bit to my buddies here... Im sure it wont disappoint!

Hope you didnt talk it up too much.. I sure didnt clean it and cosmetically the gel and paint is getting close to the top of the project list. However she does have her charms. It looks like I will be a couple hours behind my original timeline tomorrow. I was planning to leave direct from work but now it looks like I will be coming back to the Auburn area to pick up my friend Matt who is also going to making the trip. Hopefully we still get there sometime between ten and eleven. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Guys I have a cool trick for ya, that makes an awesome video. It worked with my boat and my cousins SN. We had the booms in between the two boats, my cousin started in his boat jumped out slide down both booms and jumped into my boat. It was pretty cool cause my brother and I had to make sure we were driving the same speeds and keeping the boom ends together.

I just wanted to thank Tim and his family for the hospitallity this afternoon, another great day at the Benjamin complex!

Joe, your boat is sweet! Probably the best ride I've ever had in a Correct Craft ;-).

Greg, thanks for the ride in Crush and letting me control the throttle simply great!
I know people make a big deal about what brand boat you owe but a great boat is a great boat, and all of them there today are great! Thanks for letting the other brand guy hand out

A huge thank you to Tim, Greg, Melissa, and Deb along with the rest of the Benjamin Family. You guys were outstanding hosts and were so gracious with your home and taking care of everyone throughout the weekend. You guys are truly a top rate family with a deep deep love for these boats.

The weather wasn't perfect but in typical CCF fashion we made the best of it!

Personal Milestones for me this weekend were skiing behind the crush, barefooting for the first time behind the boom, picking up a 68 cuda SS thanks to Bruce and his outstanding sons, and getting up on the air chair.

Great weekend all around and couldnt ask for better people

There will be an incredible amount of pictures coming.

Storm34 aka Chris with his friend and coworker PicturePat (we decided thats his CCF name) were able to come up from DC after working. They drove through the night and arrived at 6am and woke up at 8am after only 2 hour of sleep in their rental impala. PicturePat is an awesome photographer and spent a ton of time in different boats making sure that pictures were taken of everyone during the event. Im sure its going to take him a few days to sift through the thousand or so pictures he took but there will be plenty of action shots of Ken Spurling parasailing...

Fantastic weekend and a great time! The Benjamins are a great family and hosts. Thank you for an awesome weekend! There must have been 25-30 people and 6 or 7 boats. Todd was there with his Banana George boat which is a great piece of CC history and a really cool boat. We all got to ski behind the Crush. There was plenty skiing, footing, boarding and surfing. One of the highlights of the weekend was Ken Spurling parasailing Saturday afternoon. We all can't wait to see the pictures of that. Sunday after noon the Banana George Boat pulled 8 footers off the booms. Dave, Tom and I had a really good time.

Need to reiterate the huge amount of gratitude to all of the Benjamins: Tim, Gregg, Deb, Deb's sister Lori, Lori's husband Tom and Uncle Todd. They went so far above and beyond. It was way more then generous to let us hang out at their place for a couple days, but the food, drinks, hospitality, boat availability on top of that was beyond amazing. Many thanks to all. It was a great weekend. I am sure there will be many more pics, especially when PicturePat's get posted, I only got a few worth posting, but since Eric was nice enough to get us started, but didnt include any of himself, here he is getting ready to head out for a wakeboard run behind Joe's Super Air-wake-footin-surfin-parasail pullin-Ski Nautique. Plus a couple others.

Joe and I got there around 2:00 Friday afternoon. Got some good skis in off of the orange crush. Tim's dad was driving and his mom took a ski too. Tim's mom rips it up on the ski.

Then we went footing a little off of boat with Uncle Todd. He gave me some great pointers and taught me a swing out from the boom on the handle.

We couldn't stay because Joe was going to the Belmont on Sat. I intended on coming back up on sat but got involved with cutting up all the trees tat fell in my yard from the last storm. Plus the weather wasn't that good. ;) It seems we gotthe best weather Friday afternoon.

Thanks to the Benjiman family for their hospitality. It was a fun afternoon. WishI could have made it the rest of the weekend.

Here's some pics;

The weather wasn't perfect, but I couldn't have had a better time if it was. Everyone got plenty of skiing and stuff in both Sat and Sun. There were two boatloads out surfing until after 9:00 Saturday night. We had a lot of fun. We missed both you guys as we arrived about 10 on Friday and left about 4:30 Sunday.

Wow, what a whirlwind of a weekend! Thanks to everyone for coming out- it was great seeing old friends and new faces alike! Im pretty sure no one is normally allowed to have that much fun during such lousy weather- we sure gave it hell. I should also thank my family, as they played much better hosts than I did! Thanks to everyone for pitching in- it was a true group effort.

Im really looking forward to seeing more pictures- good times. We’ll have to do it again… Ill be sure to order better weather next time.

I had a great time for the practically day I was there. Got in around 3:30 just as Ken Spurliing was taking off Parasailing OMG..... stuck around for a bit then launched the 85 thanks Brad for driving it back to the Benjamin Camp while I dropped off the trailer. Weather held out for awhile then roughly around 6pm it poured and then cleared up took the covers off. Filled Joe's Fatsacs in his boat and people and filled the 85 with people galore. We stayed out pretty late but Joe's crew was out till dark. Nice lake they have, just enough room to do it all aslong as other boaters respect each-others water. Sunday came I took Larry and Brad footing off the 85 awesome time they had with the limited visiblity as it was foggy as hell out there. Once we got back I decided I was going to go for a ski, so Eric took me and Larry out on the Orange Crush, 4 turn arounds from the Benjamin camp to the Marsh area nice and calm at the time. Just full day of events it was a great time just wish it was longer. Great bunch we have as friends and fellow correct craft owners. I decided to leave around 5:30 yesterday and thanks to Jay, Sage's BF for driving the boat back to put it on the trailer.

Thanks again for the Benjamin family for the hospitality. We def have to get together more often somehow during the season.

I have no pictures to share but I would like to share my gratitude and appreciation. It was the second time I have had the joy of visiting Tyler Lake and the whole Benjamin family and crew there have been unbelievably welcoming each time. Not to mention just plain old fun to be around. So thanks for the place to stay.. the toys to play with.. the beer.. the unbelievable food.. the help with moving the boat and trailer around.. making my friend Matt feel right at home.. etc.

I had a riot, perfect weekend.. we didn't even have to waste time putting on sunscreen or compete for water.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again over the next couple months.
