I am on the south end of the lake (6mile Creek or Young Deer Creek), but lately we are just going to Sunset Cove to hang out with friends and let our kids play on the beach or in the waterpark. I am pretty flexible to meet anywhere on the lake that is convenient to the majority of folks that are interested.

You guy's know where the best water is so ya'll make the call and I'll be there. Every weekend is a 3 day weekend for me so I'm good. If we're gonna make this a 3 day'er then I have a truck (if I get her fixed) or a tent to sleep in or maybe hit the Buffalo's up for Hollywoods room if there is a vacancy.

We went exploring last week to Little River and yesterday to 6 Mile and Young Deer. Both are less than 1/2 hour from me. Little had smooth water all day on Sunday. There is a ton of camping on Lanier. I have room at my house also. We are excited to meet up with some CCF menbers that go to Lanier.

Sorry we missed you; we were watching the women's world cup and didn't feel like doing much after that loss. Normally, we'd have been out all day.

There's a gas station very close to the ramp here...I don't want to know what Holiday is getting for 93.

Hi Guys,
I'm on Lanier most weekends and would love to join up for this. I've been a lurker around CCFan for the most part (until something breaks and I need advice), but would enjoy putting some faces to names.

I am in for it. if we are going to do a multi day let me know so the wife can get off work. If any body doesn't want to trailer back and forth I have plenty of parking room 1/10 of a mile from Burton mill ramp.

I am good for the afternoonevening of the 29th and all day on the 30th - I propose we get the date finalized and then decide on a location since most of us trailer to/from the lake anyway

I will not be able to make it on the weekend of the 29th. I hope you guys and gals have fun! Take lots of pictures and post them please.

I will however be on the Lanier tomorrow, if anybody is going to be in the six mile/little mill area. I will be on the lookout for other CCFan members and any other Correct Craft owners.

Seems like a few can't make this w/e, and a few others think it's short notice.

Tim is looking into camping options because the timing isn't good for us to have everyone over. The end of August or the beginning of September would be better for that.

Looking at the campgrounds via online and telephone looks like if we want to make a weekend out of this we're gonna have to camp out at Van Pugh camground. They have primitive camping and RV slots left with a few close to the water. It's pretty close to Lake Lanier islands but which means the Buffalo's will have to trail blaze. Close to Mike & Gails though. Ya'll pipe up with the suggestions. What ya'll wanna do?

Here's a link to what's available at the campground at the time of posting...Open sites are in blue.

Van Pugh is about 2 miles further down Gaines Ferry rd. We are at Burton Mill. From there its about 1/2 hour by car to little River where the Buffalo roams. We can accommodate a few at my house more if you dont mind ruffing it.

I am open for what ever the group wants. We checked out your end on a Sunday and it was good water all day. Is that the norm? Its 1/2 hour drive or it will take 1 plus hours and a lot more gas by boat. My wife took the weekend off 29-30-31 so lets get something going. Sweet if you can make it that would be great.

Hey guys been out of town at North Myrtle Beach this past week on vacation. Been off the site this week. Well....I did take a brief look using my Blackberry!
Robin and I would be able to make it on the 29th or 30th. Not sure we would be spending the night, but would like to hook up with everyone for sure.
Six Mile, Charleston Park launch ramps on the southwest/Cumming side are usually pretty busy, although I have gotten a spot every time we have gone to Charleston Park so far this season. The water is fair in the mornings and late evening. During the day we usually cruise over to Sunset Cove and hang out for a while. Pretty sure Greg's area up in Little River would be better water conditions for skiing.
Really, we are flexible and will meet wherever we need to.

Jim is correct Young Deer and Charleston (6 mile creek) are for very early morning and late evening only. I don't think anyone would get any fun out of trying to ski these areas because of the tremendously small window on the weekendds. We plan on heading north up the lake today to just let the kids ski and then come home so I will let everyone know what Sardis area looks like just north of Gainesville marina.

Hanging out is good anywhere on the lake though.

Well then lets quit fartin round and pull the trigger. Why don't we just plan on hanging out "On the HoocH" up where the Buffalo's roam. Boat launch right down the street from them plus Greg already told me that if he were called out of town that we were more than welcome to use their dock for grnd central. I'm bringing the truck or tent to sleep in so just need to place to park either one be in Mike's place or Greg's. If the Buffalo's are at home I can bring my smoker again and we can do smoked chicken for dinner on Sat (unless someone wants to step up and buy a couple of racks of ribs). All ya gotta do is plug it in and come back 5-6 hrs later and Hmmmmmmm....mmmmmmm! Chips, slaw are easily bought and can feed the small gathering of CCFans.

True we can just raft up and with fans you can just tie em' up and go in whomevers boat doing what ever. We Atlanta guy's have been talking bout doing this all summer let's just freaking do it. I'll be there unless the monsoons come!

Saturday it is. Little River Park is the ramp. It's just off 129N/Cleveland Hwy; follow the pretty brown signs.

Looks like you guys have dinner already covered? We could do coffee, sweet rolls, and a picinic basket to hold us over...suit yall?

6:30am? Traffic should be light, so we don't have to start that early, but I'll have the coffee ready by then.

OK early sat for the day with the Lanier boys. Let me know what we can bring for supper or pitch in some cash. I hope Rocky the wonder dog is welcome he is a permanent fixture on my boats. We went to young deer and 6 mile yesterday deer was OK 6 mile was screwed. Little river should be the best choice. Sweet if you can make it we will have room for you on our boat.

Mark, I'll bring the smoker and the chicken. Planning on doing leg qtrs. It's easy and I can fill up the racks with about 20- 30lbs or so. Gonna need some chips, plates, napkins, utensils, coleslaw, and etc. The plan is to make this as easy as possible so that there very little trouble for anyone and we won't take up precious water time. You guys that are coming chime in and tell us what your bringing.

Weather looks perfect for this upcoming weekend but we all know it can change so keep your fingers crossed.

Glad you're on board Greg. Looks like Saturday is when everyone will be here, but you're welcome to drop by anytime Friday afternoon thru Sunday. We have the use of Betty's dock again and I have a few extra bumpers.

Tim, if you get here too early tomorrow, I'll hand you a toothbrush for the dock.

Hey guys, just wanted to say thanks again to everyone who made yesterday a great day on the lake. Many thanks to Greg and Amy for the hospitality. It was really a pleasure getting to put faces with names/handles.

I also appreciate everyone's help and advice in trying to get my boat running properly. While we were not able to put our fingers on the issue yesterday, I was able to get it all sorted out this morning. For lack of any other ideas, I decided to put the old condenser back in the distributor and see what happened. It fired up and ran like a champ. I guess the condenser in the new tune-up kit was faulty. Some of the other adjustments made by folks yesterday ended up leaving the boat running even better now.

So, thanks again for everyone making it a great day and hope to see you on the lake soon.

Yes- The "Hootchie Run" was a success guys! I got my Hootchie on- and the wife stayed back in NC and got toasted at a Wine Tasting Festival!

Clearly this was a Hit with the CCFans that got to Attend-- Great Hosts and the FOOD was great- I also hear The Caterer forgot my 'Bubba Burger' But indeed- who has time to Eat at these Gatherings

Most everyone got to Drive the Skylark and enjoyed it very much. I was asked by Greg--How did you come up with a decision on which boat to bring?
No words needed be said--Just this Quick ( bad ) Video and PIC

Big "Thank You" to Greg and Amy for the superb hospitality! The food, the dock, the great water. We had a wonderful time!
Tim, thanks for the skiing tips and the great pulls. It dawned on me later in the day today why I felt a little stiff and sore.... it was that graceful exit out of your slalom ski
Marty, it was an honor to sit at the helm and drive your Skylark. Thanks for bringing her down and letting me and everyone else giver her a go.
Mark and Jennifer, pretty sure the kids got a good night's sleep last night. It was sure fun watching them have such a good time on and in the water.
Bud, Simon and Robert good to meet you guys as well. See you up there again soon. Good news on the ignition fix!
Mike and Gayle, looking forward to trying the wakesurfing next time. Will definately hook up again and give Gayle a slalom pull!
Thanks to all for a great time and a great day at the lake

Thanks again to Greg and Amy for hosting this event. They are truly blessed to own such a beautiful place in a perfect location. We started at 730 am and didn't leave until 930 pm and it still wasn't enough time.
It was great to finally hook up with some local members. I cant wait to see them again. These CC mini get togethers are the best and having one in my back yard is even better. We didn't have time to exchange phone numbers so here is my contact info. Give me a call when you are heading to Lanier.

Thanks to Gregg for deleting Karen and I from the invite list, glad to know we are not welcome . But a phone call on Sat. am raised my hopes of an invite, not to happen. Rather than an late invite, I gotta " help me figure out this boat problem" I tried to offer my advice and a fix to get the boater back on the water. While this did get me a "thank you" from the Buffalo it did not get me tickets to the concert....Maybe next year ??????

Ahhh C'mon Doc...Go easy on us Atlanta Boys! ..This was basically just a hey all you Atlanta guys lets quit talking bout hooking up,get off the pot and do it..Well we finally got off the pot and Marty decided to join us. I think you know us better and for us True southerners; the door is ALWAYS open.

Big thanks to Greg and Amy for being Ground Central and opening their home to us CCFans. Greg is always there with a handshake and Amy with a hug. As always, the people here are top notch and brought more than plenty of food and such to feed the masses there and then some.
Got to meet some new CCFans and place a Face with the boat we are used to seeing. It was worth the drive to the North end of the lake as we took full advantage of the almost perfect water conditions all day on Sat. I didn't take too many pics as I was either driving, skiing, or firing up the smoker and shuffling vehicles round the Buffalo Corral.
Thanks again y'all for a great time on the water, in the water and off the water.

Great to see this beautiful rig. Last time me and Patti saw the truck she was on jack stands in your basement.
Looks like me missed a great weekend. If we would have had our computer we would have known and stopped on our way thru GA.
Always an awesome time at the Buffalo household.

1st Mate Morfoot! Yall, Tim knew how things work around here, and he stepped right in. Thank you sir.

We also had a surprise visit from Dan(91Nautique). Dan helped me by e-mail from Australia with a few fiberglass challenges when I was knee deep in it. He called last Thursday to ask what we were doing Saturday, and I said "funny you called because...".

John, sorry you didn't know about last Saturday. Yall pick the date for the next one, and we'll see if we can swing it.

David, wellcome to the site. Several of us are on the south end of Lanier on a regular basis. I usually put in at Charleston Park, in Six Mile Creek. Ski over there awhile and then cross the lake over to Sunset Cove (on the back side of Lake Lanier Islands). Flag me down if you see me. In a white and blue Sport Nautique no tower. Always on the lookout for Correct Crafts. What color is your boat? Will keep an eye out for you.

So I need to get serious about registering boat and trailer. Then we'll see about those GA letters. Boat's getting new alternator and ballast pump so I have time. Think a corroded alternator power supply wire has been a problem w battery drain for some time, finally found it arced out.
