Does anyone know where correct craft put the serial number back in 1972. It's not on the back of the boat. The Title has been lost and the new buyer wants to make sure he can get one before he buys it. They are checking with the dept of conservation to see if those #s will produce a S/N. Thanks Mike

The hull ID on a '72 would be located on the capacity plate near the throttle. The serial number is likely to be "SN" followed by 4 digits.

Every state handles titles differently. The ones around here (CT, MA, NY) do not title boats at all, so there may be a process already in place that would allow you to register a title-less boat. Here, a bill of sale and a previous registration will suffice.
