Tribals post of 'boarding in 34 degree water got me thinking of another "northern" winter water thing I used to do when bored.....not as much fun as the 64 'skier, but......

Man summers a long way off yet...

Man that would be perfect, I could barefoot, and then not have to rewinterize the boat, you are a genius.

Hey Rob,
I could check to see if they make a ski pole for the sled ? (a tower might be a little much) Also, you might have to learn to do a barefoot "transition" from snow to water....

Maybe a new winter olympic event? hmmmm....Think of the possibilities..hehehe

I was standing outside of an Eastern Mountain Sports in the mall and they were running videos of a water skipping snowmobile pulling a barefooter in a dry suit. Pretty cool.

Rob,

92 feet....behind a boat.   You might set a new record behind a snowmobile, I'll get on the phone to Ripleys.

Excellent, then I can donate what is left of me to science, maybe they can explain what is wrong with me.

Maine passed a law recently that made water skipping illegal. Happens still all the time at Mousam lake as they go through the tunnel. One went down a few weeks ago to the bottom. Usually what they do is take a slalom course bouy and 50 feet of pretty heavy rope coiled and tied to the buoy and the snowmobile. As you can guess, this makes it easier to get it out if it goes down because the bouy will float to the surface. The idea is to be able to get the rope, pull the machine out, and get out before the warden/sheriff shows up and reads you your rights.
