| I am installing a new key ignition on my 82 2001 sn. What color wire is for the ignition , and what color wire is for the solenoid . I know the battery wire cause it has a red stripe on it . The other wires left are orange & purple . The purple wire could be a bluish color also. PLease help , I had to hot wire on the water and I fogot the wire locations . Thanks , Dan |

Purple is from the ignition (switched power...also goes to instruments, accessories powered when key is 'ON') purple wire also goes to ECM

there is a website (www.skiboathelp.com...I think)that had a reference document of color codes and a schematic of a typical boat electrical system. I found it helpful when I re-wired mine. I don't recall the solenoid arrangement.
